So I gotta tell you guys about the thing that happened yesterday.

Let me start from the beginning. I've been selective about taking advantage of sales on Monster High dolls, since I want more of G3 in my stock without breaking the bank. I got my hands on a Creepover Draculaura, and on my way to free shipping, I decided to try a blind box craft. I don't love blind box stuff, I won't commit to one unless the price is good and I like a majority of the options. Recently Toya from MyFroggyStuff has been loving these resin crafts themed around food from MGA's Miniverse line, and when I found one on sale, I went for it. Well to my surprise, I got exactly what I wanted!

Strawberry bubble tea! And look at the scale with MH, oh that's cutely oversized. It got me thinking about all the abandoned bubble tea doll concepts I had. A couple years ago, I tried bubble tea for the first time before I moved, and it was cherry flavored and super good. I haven't had cherry again, since my local place doesn't carry it. I hadn't tried strawberry either come to think of it. I usually get taro, and I made a whole doll themed around it that I still feel I could do better on. So on a whim, I decided to go to my place and try strawberry milk tea to see if I liked it. Turns out I do! It's very good, I'd order that again.

I dunno what possessed me, but on the way home, I made an impromptu stop at Target. Actually I do know, I wanted to see how I felt about the sales going on, if anything caught my eye. In the end, I decided not to go for the Rainbow High dolls I saw. I need to customize one before I can justify getting any more, and in the end the ones I had my eye on weren't ones I really wanted. But you know what was on sale in store that wasn't on the app?

The Coffee Break two pack! I have been DREAMING of this set for the longest time. Little Perseus riding the delivery motorcycle brings me so much joy, and this is by far the most gorgeous Frankie in my personal opinion, love them so much! I never thought it would go on sale and still be in-store, I've been waiting forever.

Long story short, I'm taking this as a sign from the universe to go make another bubble tea doll! And given the recent collab I've joined, she's probably gonna fall somewhere in the realm of Japanese Street Fashion. I'm so excited to try this again, we're gonna do great! I wanna use Creepover Draculaura with her original hair (I love the buns they're SO CUTE), we'll see how this goes!

Finally have some free time and got some more felt- and am planning more dolls

There’s a part of me that really wants to label this as ‘Doctor O’ to be funny

Mainly two things that are in my head right now

1. There’s a part of my brain that for some reason wants the master to fob watch himself again, and unit finds him when he is fob watched and they are like ‘you are the master or have some Tardis energy on you so you know something ’. And he is like ‘doctor? Tardis? What-?!’ I just think it’s a cool idea like I might write a little thing

2. I really want to sew another 13 to post the day the episode comes out. As I want to post this version of the master and maybe something with 13 or the Tardis (am just worried about time) but I think at this point the only outfits I haven’t done of hers is her black hoodie, the vest, and the prison outfit (and I really don’t want to do the last one as I don’t like that plot point so am going to save it for later) so if anyone have any ideas I will be happy to hear them

Maybe I should do another mix outfit as if this is the master as the doctor then maybe a doctor as the master. And that what I do for 13?

Should I try doing reverses? I’ve done the main doctors and a few audio masters left(Am crocheting something for the lumiat so she taking time and have you see Roberts masters outfits, I need to do Macqeen, and am trying to decide on if I want to the the Gallifreian white and black outfit or think of a red one for Koschei and Theta)

And am going to do the other new look for the master but am going to make to him as mini doll so he will be later

I realise it’s kind of morbidly funny to make a doll version of Lady Maria of The Astral Clocktower, but... I’ve got an Elsa doll that’s just screaming for a repaint. I was using her body for Ysabel but now that Ysabel has her very own super-articulated body there’s no sense in keeping Elsa separate anymore. 

It’ll be good practice working at 1/4th scale. My BJDs all need some TLC.

Doll stuff

Prob no one will see this because it’s actually the middle of the night, but I’ve been thinking again about the story that goes with my dolls.

MSDs

So this current version of Lulu is in her 20s and is traumatized by the events of what happened to her in Remi’s storyline. Bad stuff went down and she hasn’t seen him in years. Her hair ended up going prematurely white from the stress so she dyed it and her eyebrows pink, but you can still see the white because she did it herself instead of going to a salon. But basically she doesn’t even know if she imagined all that stuff or not, so she’s kind of struggling.

MomoniK, who I’m currently planning to purchase, will be named Winter. She has a goth-like style to her. She meets Lulu during this time and they become super close (possibly girlfriends, who even knows). She tries to get Lulu outside of her shell and to live a little, but she’s got dark secrets of her own.

I mayyyyy add a boy at some point to make it a trio, but I haven’t liked any boy bjds in a while, so idk about that.

Tinies

Bijou is in her own separate storyline. As of right now, I’m planning on re-shelling her but I have a few sculpts in mind and haven’t picked a final one, yet. But I’ve been considering her being a fantasy girl character, complete with talking animal friends, and things of that nature. Currently undecided if she will have friends or not. Most of the dolls I like in this scale are odd sizes, so a little above the normal tiny range or a little below. Here are some tinies that I currently like:

-Merrydollround Bunyol 21 cm

-Irrealdoll Enoki or Annic 22.5 cm

-Dust of Dolls Cham Byol 34 cm (getting close to MNF height, here)

-some Iplehouse Kid sculpts 34.5 cm

-Lillycat ChibbiLana ~27 cm?

-Maskcatdoll Feline ~30 cm?

So pairing might be difficult, depending on what really draws me in.

My future goals are to be more consistent in picture taking. I’d like to get some in scale furniture for my tinies at least to have less boring backgrounds. Any other suggestions for interesting backgrounds would be greatly appreciated. I always do all this work picking out dolls that are in similar scales and looks to each other and then never take any group pictures of them, which is just crazy. But it’s because posing is difficult, and I don’t have anything good for them to interact with to help me out.

OKAY I FIGURED OUT HOW TO FIX MADAME DE S 

And it’s a fairly easy fix- not too dissimilar to what I did for Ysabel back when she was on the atrocious Elsa body. Basically- Oak’s Bread Tag tutorial. The kind of bread I buy might not be suitable, but there’s plenty of other things I could use.  

I’m gonna want to make a washer shape, cut it juuuuuust big enough that you can pull it off if needed, and situate it between Head Hole and Neck Hole. 

There were a couple reasons I didn’t want to do this. The biggest one was that it would give her a FREAKISHLY LONG NECK- seriously, without her head in the right position, it’d be as long as her forearm. But eh. She’s on a TNT body, which is already stylised to hell and back, and her arms kinda sit weird because of their REAL ROCKING ACTION. She was never gonna be realistic to begin with. 

The other reason was, of course, that it makes her a little more fragile for posing/picture-taking. But “art doll being a little fragile” isn’t the end of the world. Just disappointing. 

As for what I want to do with her, well... 

I’m not sure whether to restore her hair or try to rewig her. (On the one hand, she’s got really nice hair- it’s probably kanekalon or something, it’s really really really soft and fluffy- but on the other hand, it’s really patchy in back, has some crap in it, is attached in a way that makes it hard to comb, and needs to at minimum be reattached in some way. O_O) If I did re-wig her, I’ve got that Ariel head with the BRIGHT RED hair that might be worth stealing... IDK. I’ve already wrecked her shit, but... I feel bad about doing it, you know? 

Clothing wise, I’d like to make something that accentuates her unique features. 

I know it’s not really femme or frilly enough to be the kind of doll she’s supposed to be, but her Real Baby Rocking Action arms can pull off a great salute and I figure, you know, why not?

So, I've been working on fleshing out the character for my new boy. His name has been more difficult than coming up with the others.

But potentially, I think his name is Ari.

Also, if you have any B-names that are unique and relatively short, I'd love any suggestions.

I'm hoping he'll be back on the way home from his face-up next week, with wig on the way, as well ^_^

Alright so plans for my next custom:

I’m gonna make a nendo custom of my Skyrim OC, Allaandial because he should be the easiest to get parts for. I want to make him using the YmY body with the height extension so he’s taller than the other two lads.

Skin color of the base parts are not important as they will be painted to be more yellow as he is a high elf

I’d like to find a loose Geralt hair since his hair in game is a converted Witcher hair but if not any half up/down medium length will do

I *will* need to commission his clothes. I will start with his town robes and then in the future get his adventuring gear.

I will 3D print his lute from the game myself, and maybe the wabajak as well? I’m not sure
