i think this was my fourth attempt at making this wig...but it's my last since this is finally the style i wanted all along
left is the previous failed attempt-- i made it in nylon and it laid so poorly when i tried to cut and style it that the best i could do to salvage it was that choppy layered situation. which is a legit hairstyle that could be fine on a completely different doll with a completely different vibe-- but imo the new (and final) version on the right suits her so much better, both for her sculpt and her overall vibe.
this time i used saran fiber instead of nylon, and the sort of waxy texture and weight and how much drapier it is than nylon actually gave me the straight, sleek, blunt bob with more of a baby bang that i'd been trying to create since i started a wig for her. definitely one of the most challenging wigs i have made so far!
also the first creative project of any kind i've managed to complete so far this year! for a very specific reason:
in fall of 2024 i had to say goodbye to my little old man pupper-- he left me after 11 years which was both foreseeable and absolutely no less sad for being so 💔 it took me a little over a year to feel ready for it, but at the end of November 2025 i decided to bring home a new buddy:
things he enjoys:
+ playing fetch
+ playing tag
+ wrestling with my remaining old pupper (i had two-- part of the reason i decided to bring this guy home. my old girl loves having a buddy again ❤️)
+ walks in the park, bonus if there is snow to eat or dead leaves to chase
+ squeaky toys
+ zoomies (he is super fast and proud of it)
+ being super rowdy
+ eating!!!
+ snuggles
+ being talked to
things he does not enjoy:
+ when we are not about him
he is starting to grow out of his ultra needy baby phase, so i'm starting to get back into doing art and doll stuff. the temporary interruption in hobby time to get him settled in was 100% worth it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
