Gosh where do I start 💗

Apologies in advance since these emotions over the character have been kinda pent up for a few years so if this ends up becoming a gush post, I’m sorry 😭 So let’s start from my first experience of seeing her and to break down the lore of the show/movie without spoiling too much because, it’s A LOT of lore lol

Her first introduction scene just pulls you in right away from her booming voice and how she had this passive aggressive attitude and you can hear her sing-songy tone in her voice so her first song was a delight to hear because she wants revenge on the main character (Steven) due to his mom abandoning her for thousands of years, so right off the bat she brings this machine to destroy earth and go after Steven, but when she started moving and bouncing around OH BOY! Seeing her change and stretch during her fight WHILE singing in such a show tuney voice is SO GOOD. Her smugness during that whole scene and her crazed expressions was hot and how easily it was for her to bounce back from fighting with the other characters.

After technically rebooting the other gems (plus herself), her old form is then shown and I immediately had cuteness aggression over her and wanted to just grab her and shake her lol

Seeing how she was before and also seeing how the other characters reacted to her playfulness reminded me a lot of myself when I was younger, so I resonated with that part of her. Her desperateness of wanting to be apart of things and cling to others made me feel bad because as the viewer you can see she’s oblivious to it all, she just wants to have fun and make others feel as happy as they make her. So when she started to regain her memory and you learn why she changed, it HURTS and then you know why Steven’s mom reacted the way she did to her because of her nature.

Idk how many times I’ll find myself crying at Drift Away and being familiar with that feeling myself. But also the grief and confusion she went through is hard to see. She was abandoned and was left waiting for someone she loved that never came back and only found out about this because this person’s kid sent out an transmission throughout the galaxy, which caused her to break realizing she was left behind while everyone moved on. But then it’s followed up with the short song Found and you can see Spinel is very cautious during it because she wants to love again and is hopeful, but scared. So I can’t help but root for her. She wants to change so bad, but still in so much pain.

BUT DAMN WHEN SHE GETS ANGRY……. Like I don’t want to root for her during these scenes but GOD DAMN DO I LIKE TO WATCH THEM!

To wrap this all up, she realized that what she did was wrong and was taken in by their homeworld leaders who they themselves are still grieving over Steven’s mom and wants her to be apart of their family now and now she’s happy :]

Since you told me how you got your username, I'll tell you how I made mine cuz why not? Since this is my newer blog, I wanted my username to kinda fit the theme of my blog which is Ragatha from tadc, after a bit of thinking I decided on dollface since that's the nickname Jax calls Ragatha in the show! And idk I thought it'd be a cute username lol

And I added lover cuz Ragatha is my f/o 😅

I had a feeling the “dollface” might’ve been related to Ragatha :3c And it is a cute nickname! :D
