Emrys couldn’t quite recall most of the ‘plans’ he made throughout the work week. Most of it all blurred together in an odd mix of faces and muted words. And now, he was staring at a pile of books and sorting through which he could see himself parting with. Kit was a trustworthy man--and he was willing to listen and offer kindness despite his nature wishing to be left alone. It was the least that he could do to show he appreciated the man’s friendship.
Friendship. That was a nice thing to consider. And he barely realized he was now only skimming the books, rather than actually noting the titles and conditions. “Hop, stop sniffing the door. I won’t let you try to sneak off to steal another neighbor’s doorknob.” He muttered to the Niffler, who had his nose under the door. The Niffler seemed to be aware of someone coming, and from his owner’s reaction, he doubted the lanky man would even listen to him if he made a sound.
“...I’ll take you outside later. We can go to the park.” Emrys rubbed his eyes, feeling like he was drowning in the items around him. The good memories were there, but they came with pain and harsh thoughts of what he should have done differently. “Now, please, leave the door alone.”
