Bone found on the beach while I was beachcombing

This decoration features a large dolphin vertebrae found on the beach by me while I was beachcombing. The bone has been hung with sinew so that it can hung upon a wall, and has also been decorated with blue glass beads of varying hues. This piece is representative of the Dolphin, an animal that shows a love of self, of fun, and of community. The Dolphin teaches us to lean on each other and to love not only one another, but ourselves. This piece is laid with blessings of the dolphin and blessings of the sea.

The use of a fish’s ear bone as an amulet dates back to Roman times. It was believed to be especially efficacious against eye and stomach problems. In France they were called ‘colic-stones’.
