That’s the idea! The downloads that I could find were missing some tracks and the ones they had usually suffered from poor quality. The filenames that meant nothing, the translated names that were too vague, and the lack of an order for listening made me want something polished so badly that I took it on myself to put something together.
I have been hunting for a month and I’ve found/have been linked to the source code from people who managed to get the data from the original game. The tracks are all .ogg, but with a little work I can get them converted. The source code also gives me access to more sounds than what is usually available for most downloads of the soundtrack alone.
I took careful notes while replaying the original routes to get an idea of where every track is used, and now I have to convert and fix some tracks before getting them ordered and renamed in a way that makes sense. After all of that comes the metadata, which shouldn't be too much of a pain because I refine music metadata as a hobby.
If people are interested I’ll have to find a way to distribute, but I’ve never done that before so I’ll have to figure that out as well.
