@Muse ~ The Void, album #simulationtheory 💚 Description Matt had the idea of writing a song about being lost, like when you are tethered to a space station and get snipped off and floating off into space and seeing how the planet is disappearing after watching some movies with Rich Costey, according to Matt, Costey has a projector and they decided to watch some sci-fi films from the 80s in the studio, Matt liked the synths the movies featured because they have a very 'ominous' and 'slightly threatening' sound like the work from John Carpenter, thus, inspiring him to compose The Void. Is the closer track of Simulation Theory. It had been called by many fans the "Exogenesis Part IV" due to the ambientation and the similarities with other closer tracks like Exogenesis Part III, Redemption, Isolated System and Ruled by Secrecy. . . Overdue, Showbiz ~ The very first Muse song on a commercial Muse record. The version on the Muse EP differs from that which features on Showbiz, containing a slow bridge in the middle and additional lyrics, whilst omitting the last chorus. Live The song was first played sometime prior to Soundwaves 1997, the recording from which is the first known performance of Overdue. It was likely commonly played throughout 1997 and 1998 as the band had seen some potential in the song based on its inclusion in the two-track demo. By 1999 it was played significantly less, but still made an appearance at most concerts. The notable exception was October 1999 where it did not make a single known appearance. It was usually either the opener or among the first few songs. During 2000 it was played at nearly every gig for the first half of January before the change in setlists to a smaller set. From what we know it was played semi-commonly up until March when it was dropped with the single exception being the performance at the London Astoria on June 7th, its last confirmed performance. Out of all tracks from Showbiz, it was played the least in 2000, apart from Hate This & I'll Love You. Alongside Falling Down and Escape, it did not return for the Origin of Symmetry tour. . . The GLOBALIST! 💯💯💯 - Originally titled "The British Empire", according to Matt: "This is the same history but the dark version, the song starts with the same kind of message, a person who feels abandon, unloved and kind of lone and instead of going through a internal journey of darkness and solving that and come back to discover love, they decide to become a dictator, a power hungry maniac and in some ways inflict damage to the rest to the world....Rather than going through an internal journey they decide to go through an external and destructive journey and destroys the world or someone.” A ten minute song with a separate story from the rest of the album. Matt describes the song as being a ten-minute prog-rock nightmare dealing with the rise and fall of a dictator and is its own self-contained narrative. He also said that this song tells the same story as the concept section of the album, but with a bad ending. As said by Matt: "The first half sounds like something from a film, then it goes to a middle section that's metal then the outro is a big piano ballad." The previous Conservative administration had introduced a Local Development Order. Cllr Connett said: “After a very positive round table meeting with all parties, skilfully chaired by Roger Kirk; I promised to get back to the Cave this week regarding use of the Eastcliff Centre. In summary, I have been able to get Teignbridge to change the scheme of works to enable the council to offer a new agreement for use of the Eastcliff Centre by the Cave, rent free, until 30 September 2020. I hope this is helpful and will give the Cave Music Project a new period to continue working with Teignmouth Town Council on the permanent new home at Bitton Park and time to relocate to a temporary new home at the end of September. ” Cllr Connett was key in the Eastcliff Centre becoming the home for the CaveMusic Project when it started, working with current Cave trustee Terry Falcao in getting the building in use for the community.
