Tell us a bit about yourself, Jasper.”

He put down his pocket mirror after spending a long time admiring his freshly styled hair and looked straight into the eyes of the interviewer with a look that shown clear boredom. “I’m Jasper, I like to smoke and I’m also a model.” He shrugged and slouched into his seat. There was a long silence that filled the air until Jasper spoke up. “Was that not enough for you?” Jasper rose his hand to run it through his styled hair, a habit he picked up ever since he could remember, but forced himself to stop and place his hand on his lap. “Fine. I grew up in Washington D.C with my three older sisters, my dad left after I was born and a year later my mom decided to run after his dumb-ass. My eldest sister, Emily, worked two day jobs and stripped at night in order to cover the bills until my other sisters were old enough to work. My other sister, Maya, was able to get her boyfriends family to pay for her culinary arts school, and now she owns a restaurant. As for my other, other sister, Calina, she was scouted at the mall and her modeling career sky-rocketed from there. I merely followed in her foot steps.”

“What was your childhood like?”

“My childhood?” He dug into the pocket of his blue/black jeans and pulled out a pack of cigarettes, lifting one in between his lips while he searched for his lighter. He tilted his head back as he exhaled the smoke. “It wasn’t that great. I guess… I guess I was so mad that my parents are complete idiots that I took it out on the kids at school. I’m not afraid to admit that I bullied kids growing up. I don’t regret it either. There’s no point in regret. Whatever happened, happened. There’s nothing else you can do about it.”

“How did you end up here in Ladera Heights?”

“Calina sent a jet for us to visit her on set for some magazine a couple of years back, and when the photographer saw this,” He removed the lit cigarette from his mouth to gesture at his face, wearing a smug look on his face. “they asked me to join my sister in the photo shoot. From there, an agency just north of Ladera Heights hired me. The rest, you could say, is history.” Jasper took one last pull from the cigarette before letting it fall on the marble-tiled ground, grinding it with his shoe. “Oops.”
