My Personal Witcher Ships (A very obviously Jaskier centric list)
Me trying to suss out my favorite ships to mix and match (and I'm thinking art wise too obviously). So far, my faves are as follows.
Yennskier/Yeralt/Geraskefer
Eskel/Jaskier
Geraskier (friendship)
Fringilla/Francesca (FrinFran)
Ciri/Dara
Lambert/Triss
Lambert/Jaskier
I'm still debating on whether I can see Geraskier as anything but friendship (though obviously it's unrequited love on Jaskier's part), but when I do see it, I hella prefer Geraskefer, cause Geralt just loves Yennefer, I don't make the rules. And since Season 2 I'd wager Jaskier loves her too -whispers - as I knew he would
Then I thought I'd ship Lambert and Jaskier cause I've read Lambert in fics, so I've got the closest experience with his character as far as Witchers (who are still living go). But yah know, I just realized the likelihood that they're going to make Jaskier and Lambert’s interactions either distasteful or downright cruel or dismissive is pretty high.
Jaskier - for what I've seen in the last season - looks like he's on a smooth pathway to being the comedic butt of the joke (which I'm frankly done with - since the L*ki series. It really doesn't help that Jaskier is a character that gives heavy bi/queer vibes - that this show will never actually commit to - and isn't "manly" enough for this big bad macho bs the show is oozing out, so is I guess that makes him the obvious emotional punching bag. >:( god, I hate Hollywood.)
Anyway....
So Lambert is likely out. I don't want to be too disappointed next season. So ding ding ding, the actual viable ship for me (besides Yennskier -which I hope just keeps getting better and better - oh there's going to be SO much yennskier in my sketches) is still Eskel/Jaskier because Eskel is too dead to destroy my expectations. Woooh! Something good came out of that horrible thing. At least for me, mentally speaking.
As for the other ships, saw some Lambert/Triss art, and omg! Makes so much sense. I most definitely see it. (I'm mad at Triss right now, but yah know what, Lambert can be a dick too, so -shrugs-) Ciri/Dara came by mistake when I was drawing an older version of Ciri meeting him again (which I decided was going to be hella cute, okay). And Lambert/Jaskier is not off the table, but I'm not vibing with it either.
And well FrinFran is an obvious one, though its a bit hella dubious, but they're two hella dubious ladies. I loved their scenes in Season 2, and I've gotta say, if it truly amounted to nothing, I'm hella calling queerbait on that (not because they didn't get together in the end, but the likely possibility where their interactions will have gone no where at all or simply ignored), because there were several flirtations between the two.
