Unfathomably long arms of unknown origins reaching out from the dark to pet you?
I’m never any good at talking about my stories and my WIPs with anyone irl or online. I just don’t. But I have been wanting to talk more on here- the only problem is writeblr has become a place where everyone gets ‘invested’ in other people’s work (which is super cool btw), but I sort of don’t want that? Especially if I am not even on the second draft.
Things change all the time in works in progress, and I want to keep the freedom to do so. I also want to keep the option to abandon works entirely. I also have stories which I will not be writing (to publish) any time soon, so if I spoke about them, it would feel a bit... icky??
Saying that, I will probably start talking vaguely about the contents of my WIPs- working titles, character names, premises etc.
I hope I articulated this okay, and does anyone feel the same? Or completely disagree and think I’m being silly?
good morning i am
crying about a character probably
just wanna put this out here. if u don’t like something that I like, pls don’t criticize me for liking it and make fun of it? it kinda hurts :/
making things and involving myself in fandom has actually been really good for me, not necessarily in a “I am useful” sort of way, but more like “I am real and have a positive impact on other people’s lives, just by being here” which is hard to get feedback for irl but very, very important for me
.
One last thought before I slip back into the void: It’s okay to be upset about a thing. It’s okay to feel what you feel, even if that means being annoyed or disappointed with an idol or thinking they’ve done something wrong. I may not agree with you, but it’s fine to feel that way. We don’t choose how we feel about things.
What’s not okay is bringing these thoughts and feelings to the doorstep of those idols and planting the seeds of doubt in their hearts when you know damn well how much their confidence and validation is based on our support and feedback as fans. If you have literally anything but supportive things to say to an idol, do them and all of us a favor and keep it to yourself. They don’t need your criticism, they get enough of that from themselves.
Thanks.
