Free Verse, Poem 4: You Are Beautiful

Don’t act as though you didn’t hear them initially, just take no notice,                 Don’t try to block it out, let it go through you and back out.

You are strong,                                                                                                   You are bold,                                                                                                         You are beautiful,                                                                                                 But this you already know.

What is anyone’s opinion compared to the sheer knowledge of the things you know and your utter glory?                                                                                   What worth is the opinion of the 7 billion people who will always have an opinion on every matter there is to debate about?                                             Why should everyone’s opinion be used to base your life on?                           

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you’re the beholder,                               Your beauty is not in the voice and opinion of basic Tom, Dick, Becky or Harry. Your beauty, confidence and aspiration lies within you.
