Yoga Center of Minneapolis: Sunday Night Donation Vinyasa
Using my lululemon Om Finder App I found a donation flow class just minutes from my hotel in St. Louis Park. I was not to sure what yoga classes and studios would be like in Minnesota but what a wonderful experience!! The studio is beautiful, high ceilings, wood floors throughout. The class was at The Yoga Center of Minneapolis and lead by Christy Wanderi. I learned this studio has two other locations around the Minneapolis area. They offered a retail library with books, essential oils and yoga clothes. I found one line I liked but had not seen previously, it was called, "Karma Wear".
The smiley young girl at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful, I think this makes a big difference as they set the tone for the experience. The class was surprisingly small for a $6 donation class on Sunday. I was a bit sad to hear they are discontinuing the class due to low attendance. However with offering near 30 styles of classes, like suspension yoga (which I am dying to try!!).
Our teacher Christy was very knowledgeable but approachable and humble. I say this because as I am sure you know the yoga teacher with the huge ego is not as rare as it should be. Since the class was small she asked what we wanted to work on and I suggested shoulder openers. I really enjoyed the class and her teaching style, I also learned a few new poses which is always a plus. If you are in the Minneapolis area I certainly recommend this studio. They offer another donation class on Tuesdays and also have a new student special of 2 weeks for $25.
