The challenge to design the character of Nicodemus almost did me in. He was a symbol that represented one of the muses and so the attention had to be on his face. It was the same challenge as designing the Great Owl. Notice in this design there are multiple vertical lines that illustrate his robes. They represent harmony and good will, but his face on the other hand is where all of the emotion and life of his character is focused. Those decisions in designing the character were thoughtfully made. - Don
