Someone's probably already told you by now but in case they haven't, the reason the Patsy x Delia ship is called 'Pupcake' is because Patsy pulls these cute puppy faces and at the time in the early fandom we used to call her 'nurse Puppy-face'. The cake part comes from season 4 episode 7 in the cafe scene Delia says "We don't like cake!" To a man who tries to buy her and Patsy a cake as obvious flirtation (metaphor for 'we don't like men' basically) hence Pupcake was born.
I’ve gotten so many explanations... Some say that Delia was once, in the beginning, called Precious Welsh Cupcake and that the ‘we don’t like cake’ thing was a nice coincidence.
