if you watched this episode and came to the conclusion that we should listen to Bojack and that AA and rehab are bullshit then I really think we watched entirely different things.

I’d say that Bojack’s criticisms of AA and the fact that that very speech is something he used to avoid accountability for his flaws can both be true. Remember that throughout the season Bojack begins to embrace AA and its various therapies but only when it serves as an out so he can once more avoid facing himself. Regardless of what therapy he uses, from groups to exercise to weird self help podcasts, Bojack only begins to grow when he takes responsibility and actively tries to repair his relationships. The show also just so happens to include some criticisms of these therapies along the way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
