third toronto "haunt" spot = the old don jail this old lock up has a horrifying history of inhumane conditions, overcrowding, and public hangings. a total of 34 people were executed here between 1908 and 1962, some of whom are still believed to haunt the jail today. it is rumoured that two of the ghosts are of turpin and lucas (the last two men to be executed in canada, who subsequently also haunt old city hall, where they were sentenced). spookier still, human remains were found on site just 10 years ago.
