Speaking strickly from an in-world standpoint: maybe someone has already said this, idk, but doing research on the Took family makes me realize how lazy Gerontius and Adamanta were with names. I mean, if they call out “Issy, Hild, girls, time to go home.” that’s their entire troop.
And maybe that was their intention because I can’t even begin to imagine being the parents of twelve children (I know Hildigard died young so its really only eleven but still). It just seems like nicknames are tricky when your only living daughters utilize every possible combinations of “Bella”, “Donna”, and “Mira”.
