The shortest section of the PCT lies between Donnor Summit and Sierra City. Some fast hike it in a day while others, like me, take a couple. Apart from the Peter Grubb Hut and some pleasant crest walking, most of the last half of this section is forest walking . . . heading down to the Yuba River crossing. It is not without its beauty as Gretchen Howell’s photo illustrates.
