The ban has been extended until 2023. 👈 ⠀ The question of determining the limits for the catch of marine mammals was discussed as part of the consideration of the total allowable catches (TAC) for 2022 at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Fisheries Research Institutes, which was chaired by Ilya Shestakov, director of the Federal Fisheries Agency. ⠀ ❗The director of the Federal Fisheries Agency emphasized that the TACs for beluga whales and orcas will not be established either for research purposes or for cultural and educational purposes.
