KEYPORT SLIDE 2.0 FEATURES

We have integrated several new features to make the Keyport Slide 2.0 lighter, stronger, more customizable, and less expensive than its predecessor, the Keyport Slide V.01. 

The following is a list of new features:

Lighter Weight - We have reduced the Keyport 2.0's weight from 1.0 oz. to only 0.6 oz. Now, a fully loaded Keyport weighs (depending on Blades) 1.6 oz. vs. 2.4 oz. compared to the same equivalent keys on a common ring (see graphic below).

Stronger Materials - To give the Keyport even greater durability, both the nose and end cap will be made of Ultem, a premium-grade resin that is often used in the automotive and medical industries. It is strong enough to replace steel in some applications and light enough to replace aluminum in others. This will give the Slide 2.0 the ability to handle increased torque needed for certain stubborn locks and auto ignitions.

Wider Range of Future Colors - Personalization was perhaps the most important factor in our design decisions for the 2.0, so we have constructed the body out of a custom polycarbonate in order to be able to offer the body in a broader array of custom colors in the future. 

Customizable Side Plates - Continuing our efforts to increase customization, we have designed removable side plates. We will start with the ability to custom print on them for bulk orders such as corporate gifts and promotional items. Our goal is to be able to offer the option for individual order customization shortly thereafter.

Spinner Cap is Standard - Many of you have enjoyed our Spinner Cap accessory which allows you to easily attach fobs and other items that do not fit in the Keyport. This is an option that currently costs $9.99 with our first version. The Spinner Cap will come standard with the 2.0.

Less Expensive - The primary feedback from our customers and prospective customers was that they wanted us to reduce the price. Therefore, we have redesigned the Slide 2.0 to reduce the cost of production by almost $10 per unit, all the while keeping manufacturing in the U.S., and we are passing on that savings to the consumer. We hope to reduce the price of the Slide by $10 while at the same time making the spinner lanyard standard with all Keyports - resulting in a total savings of approximately $20 or 40%.

Direct Retail Distribution - Finally, we wanted to make the Keyport easier to purchase, so we designed this one to be a bit more distribution friendly. Due to the decreased cost, we will now be able to fulfill requests from distributors and retailers to carry Keyport products. This means that with your enthusiasm and support, Authorized Keyport Dealers will start showing up in locksmiths, hardware stores, and specialty retailers near you soon.
