When you get this, answer with a list of five things that make you happy. Then send it to the last ten blogs on your recent activity!
Morning, Ariel!! Five things that make me happy TODAY are:
1. Coffee (always coffee)
2. The smell of lilacs. I cut some from my bushes yesterday and the fragrance has filled my home now :)
3. Graph Paper. Such straight lines and uniform boxes. I love it! I’m planning my garden beds so it helps me to stay in the lines, lol.
4. Music. I’m practicing today and music always lifts my mood. I wasn’t in a bad mood, but it lifts me even higher. I’m thankful that my mom took the time when I was younger to teach me the basics of piano. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to lead a band now.
5. Dry Shampoo. My hair is on day 5 with no washing. If I didn’t have dry shampoo to use there is NO WAY I would leave the house. That stuff is stinkin’ amazing!!

Hi Val! Here’s my running story:
I never wanted to run, until I couldn’t. I played soccer for the majority of my life (from age like, 3 until 18) as a goalie.
Honestly I started the position when I was a kid because I was lazy and wanted to stand around in the goal, but it stuck and I was actually pretty good, enough to get recruited for college. Well, last game of my school season senior year comes along and long story short I partially tore my meniscus. I refused surgery and half assed the physical therapy while still trying to play, and my dumbassery ended my soccer career (plus I still have knee pain to this day).
The combination of stopping soccer and going to college made me gain about 100 pounds and, once I graduated, I started trying to lose weight - but not once did running ever cross my mind as an option, until maybe a year and a half ago when a friend signed us up for a 5K to benefit the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
Ever since I ran that race, I don’t know what it is, but I keep signing up for more and more of them! I still love weightlifting the best, but running is a new friend as well haha. Thanks for running this awesome promo!!

Arielle -- oh man! That sucks about ending your soccer career! I’m so sorry about your knee, but I guess it’s doing okay now? It’s awesome that you are able to run and have found a love for it after all this time.
You are a real inspiration in so many ways!

Not fitness related but I would really appreciate some advice…I’m going through sorority recruitment in a couple of weeks and would love some advice/insight on what to wear/what it’s like/something you may have liked to know before going in!
