Don’t Disguise
To disguise, we empathize with people we know don’t deserve it
We supply the time and feelings that we never get back in return
We deprive ourselves of the help we need but lend a hand to others
Putting ourselves in a position of guilt for people who don’t justify shit
To disguise, we smile in the face of sadness to hide our pain
We laugh like there’s not a million things going on in our head
We put on a brave face and nod when someone asks if we’re okay
Giving ourselves no time to heal before helping the next person
To disguise, we provide love to those who don’t truly care but would rather abuse us
We live in a world of fear and hate; everyone’s a little counterfeit
Talk about you behind your back but love you to your face
When will it all end? When can we all just be content in our own skin?
