This is an oldie I wrote as an exercise. When my roommate Graham brought his dad’s old banjo to our house, it opened up a great new sound to work with. The song is basically a “sorry not sorry” but “I do love you” song.
Don’t take offense if I don't mend the fences I broke
Sometimes I get a little carried away
Don't get all bent if you don't like what I meant by my joke
It was just a joke
But if I ever forget my place when I'm with you
It's just a moment in time
Cause at the back of my mind
I remember you’ll always be mine
Don't get incensed if I can't seem to sense what you want
You’re my only sensibility
Don’t take offense if I don’t always do what I ought
Got a nose for trouble, two eyes for you
But if I ever forget my place when I'm with you
It's just a moment in time
Cause at the back of my mind
I remember you’ll always be mine
Like the wind through the chimes
This’ll all blow on by babe
Remember, remember you’ll always be mine
