#Repost @amandabeenen (@get_repost) ・・・ I am just going to think out loud here...So I saw this quote today and it really spoke to me: . “Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live trough you and don’t worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know the side you are used to, is better than the one to come?”. . My life has changed a lot the last year or two. It’s exciting but also a bit scary. I feel like I am settling into a different life-phase. I feel less of that restlessness, less of that urge to leave and search for better things. I traveled around for about 10 years and just did windsurfing, and windsurfing related stuff. Since a while now I have been doing a lot of non windsurf stuff. I have been working on my skills that can actually make me money, plus I have been diving, making a home, surfing, hiking, gardening, hanging out with my friends and many more things that have zero to do with windsurfing. . And yes, I feel guilty that I don’t want to go windsurf more. Because that’s what I do right? People will be asking me why I haven’t been In Ho’okipa when it’s windy, why they haven’t seen me for a while ect. And meanwhile I’d be surfing, diving, hiking or whatever on a windy day. . It feels almost like I am cheating on windsurfing, cheating on “my thing”. I really had to tell myself that I can do whatever I like to do. In the end, I have to be the one that’s happy with what I do, no one else. . So there you have it, I am not feeling the whole windsurfing so much at the moment and I am fine with it. Maybe It will be back, or maybe not 🤷🏼♀️. In the end Windsurfing has made me who I am and put me right where I needed to be. I love it and I will never stop loving it, but it doesn’t define me or solely dictate what I should be doing just because I am “a windsurfer”.
