This was an old request from @lizzy-rengoku that I finally finished, I hope you enjoy!
It's currently 1am so I'm gonna go pass out now.
As the flame hashiras only tsugoku, you accompanied him on most missions, including investigating the mugen train, which supposedly disappears at times, taking its unsuspecting passengers with it.
It wasn't long until the demon revealed himself and was slain, but as soon as he fell, another rose.
He came out of nowhere, he had tattoos all over his body as him and rengoku had fought,going back and forth to try and finish the other one off.
And all you could do, was stand and stare, your chest rose and fell with each breath, not knowing what to do as your mentor was battling an uppermoon.
The demon eventually knocked kyojiro down, monologuing about how great of a demon your mentor would make alongside him, slowly walking closer.
It was in this moment, as rengoku laid on the ground, the air knocked out of his lungs as he gasped, that you finally moved forward, unsheathe your sword as you knelt beside the fiery man.
Holding his head closer to your body, you pointed your blade at the demon, anger and resentment evident in your eyes...
"Take another step closer and I'll cut you where you stand"
The sun began to rise as rengoku looked up at you, your determination had burned to brightly in this moment ...
... had you always been so beautiful and strong?
Rengoku couldn't tell... it never occurred to him how much you had improved underneath his guidance...
The demon began to run through the forest, running from the sun as you held the man you loved in your lap.
"Send for the kakushi! The flame pillar is injured!" You had taken charge so naturally...
Kyojuro had been so mesmerized by you, that he didn't even realize you were taking to him,
"Yes, I'll be fine after proper treatment..."
He never did look at you the same way after that night...
