a wild Evan appeared! Another design for my dumb au
Evan’s father was the second in command for King Mausinger of Ding Dong Dell, but died due to being attacked while traveling with Evan. Roland found the orphaned kid crying near his father, and decided that he should take him under his wing. Mausinger was distraught with the death of his close friend, but didn’t have the means to take care of Evan and give the attention he needed - long story short, Evan joined Roland in Cloudcoil Canyon as a skypirate
He quickly grew close to Roland, and it was obvious that there was a familial bond forming. Roland asked to officially adopt Evan a year or so after he joined the pirates, which he accepted.
Evan is a good foil to Roland in terms of leadership - where Roland is hardheaded and unwilling to change opinions, Evan is soft of heart and sees the best in everyone, regardless of what they may have done. This helps to let innocent people go about their buisness, but also gets him into trouble. It’s this trait that has Evan bringing Tani and Bracken to the King’s Cradle, despite not knowing them.
Roland was upset that his son so easilly trusted the strangers, but after hearing the explinations agreed to let Evan travel with them. That is, until Evan got snatched by the wyverns that plagued the area. Roland practically begged for him, Tani, and Bracken to retrive Evan while the other pirates protected the base. They rescued Evan, and Tani convinced the father-son combo to join in the creation of Tani’s future kingdom.

This is Rough but im diggin it. A little background for my verion of this au -
Roland was the twin prince to Doloran, but lacks the magical abilities his brother has. Unintentionally looked down on by his family, he lived in Doloran’s shadow until their parents died. Doloran wishes for Roland to be his second in command but the two finally agreed to let Roland form his own destiny. They still cared for eachother, despite the jealousy Roland had.
Eventually he found his way to the Sky Pirates, around 18 or so? Before working his way up the ranks. He fell in love, had a kid, and lived happily in Cloudcoil Canyon until a wyvern attack killed off his family and left him alone, one of the few survivors of the ambush. The other pirates unanimously made him the leader.
Some time later Roland ran into Evan, a child who’s mom died in childbirth and father died to protect him. Roland took Evan under his wing and, while some of the others were wary of the new half-breed child coming into the scary world of pirates, Evan quickly became a beloved and crutial part of the sky pirate’s community.
Roland is stubborn and hardheaded, but has his people’s best interests at heart. While he isnt allied with anyone in particular, should Doloran require assistence he is more than willing to help. Evan’s good about making him see the brighter side of things and the two of them provide comfort when thinking of their fallen families.
Evan’s design should be next! Stay tuned mayhaps!
