Game Review - Doodle Grub

We featured this game back in early May, but for those who haven’t found this cute little bundle of fun… Well, we feel that no one should miss out on this piece of awesomeness. You’ll find out why soon.
Gameplay –
Basically, players tilt their handheld devices to control the movements of the grub and lead it towards apples, which it eats to grow longer. There are a few kinds of apples – the normal ones which you’re supposed to eat, the rotten ones which make you lose points if you eat them, and the bonus apples which disappear after a certain time but give you lots of points if you get them. The longer you grow, the more points you gain when you eat apples. However, once the grub’s head touches any enemies, the game is over. (The monsters can chomp off your tail, but you won’t die, although you do lose points.)
Players can purchase various different themes for the game with the apples that they accumulate. You can play in different settings, like a marine environment where the monsters chasing after you are sharks and you eat shrimps instead of apples. If you’re really into it and you just can’t wait to unlock more themes, you can purchase apples with real cash via in-app payments.
Review –
Doodle Grub is a very popular game – it has reached more than 100,000 downloads in the past month since its release, and this is just on Google Play. This game has also received very positive acclaim from users and various app review sites! And no wonder – the game runs on a very simple but addictive concept. Its colorful and cute graphics are sure to entertain as well, maybe even for hours on end!
The alternative themes seem really attractive but it seems to take forever to chalk up enough apples in exchange for them! It gets frustrating sometimes, but the good thing is that I play more games and get better at it. Personally, the best part about classic games like Snake is that you’re constantly trying to beat your own high score. The themes are more of a bonus in the game.
