Hello Kitty Cafe by Sanrio Digital
I have to admit that what really got me started with this game was the brand "Sanrio Digital" and of course the cute graphics. Though I'm not really an avid fan of Hello Kitty, I'm usually very tickled by the various merchandises being rolled out by Sanrio, including this really interesting Hello Kitty Rice Cooker.
With a title like "Hello Kitty Cafe", you would expect Hello Kitty to be the key character but instead, you're introduced to Purin, Sanrio's famous Golden Retrieval who loves pudding. In the initial levels, Purin needs to single-handedly manage the hungry customers in the restaurant and serve them their favourite desserts, all in a bid to earn money to upgrade the restaurant (or Purin's own speed and levels).
I came across this really hilarious tweet yesterday that described how one would exactly feel when you're stuck with Purin (when you don't want to spend money buying in-game credits to buy helpers) serving up to 8 customers at 1 time:

The most stressful game ever is not a shooter, fighter, or MMO. It is#HelloKittyCafe on Android. My customers hate me, and I hate them.
Mid-way through the game, you may choose to hire Pekkle the duck, another famous Hello Kitty sidekick, to help you in your quest to get as many customers satisfied as possible. With an additional help, you will have to get progressively agile and speedy with your fingers and it gets pretty exhilarating at some point! Despite the annoying fact that you'll never be able to prevent customers from walking out of the cafe, I still love this game.
Is this a girls-only game? I doubt so. Within the first few levels, I've looked past the cutesy graphics and got pretty hooked by the mechanics (which is similar to Diner Dash). And I did a check on Twitter and found some guys commenting that they liked the game as well; Surprise! The downside to this game is that I need to buy in-game credits to buy the Hello Kitty character, or in fact any other characters like Keroppi and My Melody to work in the cafe.
But so far, I'm on Day 56 of the game and with 2 characters to help out in the cafe, I'm doing fine. I'm still aiming to reduce the number of dissatisfied customers to level up as quickly as possible. How about you? :)
I'll give this game 4 out of 5 stars. Quite worth it to download and spend your time in the train with! Download it from Applorer now!
