So back in 2004 I made this pointless little film called 'Boredom' (spelt 'Bordem' for some reason), which was followed up by two sequels later in 2004 and in 2006. The second was pure insanity and the third featured Surreal-8 (a mate of mine) and more general tomfoolery. That last one is already almost 3 years old, blimey! I started working on this new on a couple months ago using footage of me mucking around with the mirror feature on the Playstation 3 camera software, and have been adding random junk to it including a bunch of odd stop motion stuff since, and now it's done! How exciting! Except not, as this is all rather pointless and silly.
With a ton of in-jokes about the previous Boredom movies and the odd meme here and there, there is literally no rhyme or reason to any of what you see above, but i at least tried to make it vaguely entertaining and not so self indulgent, though that's not saying much. Even my newly acquired My Pet Monster is in there, doing a take off of this odd meme.
It's Tuke and Perks, yesterday. No wait, not yesterday, the day before! At the UK Web & Mini Comix Thing. Based on a photo.
Here's a unflattering doodle of myself. I can make it snow whenever I feel like it!
Not sure why I made this, the idea just popped into my head.
TOPICAL.
(This comic seems to feature both my best and worst drawings of Mario ever)
Cool 2 Chil Concept Art
Now that Cool 2 Chil is online for all to see, I can show some bits and bobs from the development of the film here!
The very first brainstorming sketches.
Experimented with a whole bunch of styles until I grew to like the character in the top right corner. At first I was going for a simplistic cut out look, but ended up with more organic, traditional characters instead. More after the break!
A BATH IS THE BEST MODE OF TRANSPORT IN A VIDEO GAME EVER.
NO SHUT UP IT IS.
(Sketched this in December but inked it this week. Was inspired to draw it while watching Ace's James Pond II playthrough on youtube.)
Drew this on the train journey towards my first ever visit to the London MCM Expo; an anime convention of all things! Well, it was also about video games, sci-fi, comics and other geeky things, but mainly anime. Weird that I never went to one of these a few years back when I was really big into the stuff so after a while of being out of the loop a lot of it went over my head, but I went because quite a few friends of mine were gonna be there and it was a fun day out. Was cool bumping into Euan, ShinKosai and Stacey there!
