Opinions on Doom Delta?
I’m glad that the DOOM community can actually get to play a DOOM mod based on the DOOM Bible.
Like I mentioned in the previous ask, I still need to try it out myself, though.
The Version of Doom 1 We ALMOST Got (Press Release Beta)
"Another cut item from the original DOOM was the Dark Claw. Mentioned in the DOOM Bible and seen in these cut models - it appears id thought about bringing it back for The Dark Ages as seen in this concept art for the game. Will we ever see the Dark Claw officially?"
I still assume the Dark Claw is meant to be you simply holding the severed demonic arm like a weapon, as opposed to wear it like a glove.
Still an interesting observation because i think DE had concept art of the Praetor Suit with demonic parts.
A one way return to Mars. Back to Hell with you.

Doom Delta v3.0 releases.
Something most people know by now is that the Lost Soul was originally going to have a "psychic" attack where it supposedly drains the player's health with some telekineses (Or is it Psychokineses? I dunno lol) type of attack.
It could have been annoying if you were hitscan snipped by a floating skull as opposed to dumb zombies with the same weapons as you.
Some mods do try to bring back this concept but others give this version of the Lost Soul a simple projectile.
Maybe one could get creative with Lost Souls and do what Golden Souls did: Make them almost mimic Boos from Mario where they try to chase the player from behind but if you turn around fast enough, they get in a vulnerable laugh state.
Or the idea of a "mental drain" could've been reserved for something else.
You know that mirror scene from Doom 3? And this is also somewhat inspired by the trend of Slenderman horror games.
But imagine if there were mirrors with demonic imagery that is so horrible, it hurts the player if they look at it for too long.
Something actually suiting a gameplay/lore context of "it literally kills you by looking at it".
But there could be some helpful feedback to warn the player and the option to destroy the mirrors.
