I swear was it just me or did literally every Bakugan fan do a double take when they first figured out that Doom dimension =Death dementsion In the sub
I didn't, if only because it was obvious to me that that was bakugan hell, even as a small child.
I think it's because doom doesn't necessarily mean death, and Skyress only says (paraphrazedly, to Shun) that "no bakugan can get out."
Doom isn't equivalent to death, because you can meet your doom while being alive the whole time. Being doomed doesn't mean you're going to die.
Because of the meaning difference, it makes sense that some were caught off guard.
You could say that Reaper is supposed to reference what happens in the doom dimension (grim reaper sends people to doom), but that only works in the ENG dub. Reaper's name is Lucifer in the JP dub.
(I mean, Luci does live in hell, so I guess you could make that connection, but it's not really needed in a dub that calls it the death dimension.)
We do find out that the legendary soldiers live there though, so that probably threw people off.
