The problem with writing Robert x Z team (+Waterboy, Phenomaman and Royd) is that there’s 12 characters to write… and I will struggle if I put more than 4 in a scene together….or when I write all of them topping Robert….so many pronouns and names and limbs….
Hello! Well, how are you doing? Sorry I didn't update. If you guys happened to read my posts about it then you'll already know why I didn't (bad mental health yada yada yada). Anyhow, I am going to just go ahead and split this AU into a few chapters and I'll update it as I go and depending on how I'm doing. Thanks for understanding.
Here's chapter 2. Give me more title suggestions! I want plenty of material to choose from, come on guys, my titling skills aren't all that good, do you really want me to come up with a title myself? /j
CHAPTER 1
Word count: 1279
Summary: Logan and Remus are stranded in space without much hope of rescue. The struggle is not just survival, they'll have to deal with an uncomfortable shared past.
The space AU no one asked for: Chapter 2, surprise!
Logan woke up to the sound of an emergency alarm. The lights of the room were blinking and red. A buzzing in his ears and pain all over his body. Something definitely wasn’t right.
He heard a faint groaning coming from the side.
That alone got him out of his initial confusion. Was Remus okay? Well, that proved he had a concussion as well, because, otherwise, he wasn’t quite prepared to accept the consequences of worrying first about Remus and him second.
Despite a certain feeling of nausea, Logan tried his best to stand up, what looked more like a dying terrestrial dog crawling over the interstellar airport docks.
The moment he reached Remus he pulled him into his lap and shook him gently. It still felt hard to admit the extent to which he’s relieved to see him breathing.
“Remus” Logan calls.
The aforementioned nuzzled his face against Logan’s abdomen, which made Logan feel even more miserable when his heartbeat rushed at it.
“Let me tell ya, this aftercare leaves a bit to desire, like, I’ve never gotten dommed as hard. And by dommed I mean smashed against the wall of a botanic compartment where we are going to be entombed alive. Kind of poetic, rotting by your side, I mean, could be kinkier, but it’s still something”.
Ah, yes. Remus was stupid, Logan had to remind himself. The part of him that wanted to melt because of the sweetness of the previous gesture died a quick death after hearing all that nonsense.
Aside from the usual stuff to be expected from Remus, his words were far too... either sincere or nice to indicate anything other than Remus may be suffering from a concussion as well.
“Remus, I believe you have a concussion”.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re hot too. Now, be a good boy and rub me properly. I’ll even let you leave forever again if you behave. Ha! Actually, you can’t since we’re going to die here”.
Logan rolled his eyes. He reminded himself it wasn’t good practice to drop someone with a concussion on the floor, no matter how ridiculous they were.
“I hate you” Logan lied.
“I know… I’m not into it. I don’t like this game. Can we stop it? Let me start a new one”.
Remus shuffled in his lap, turning around. His hands shot up to the button and zipper of Logan’s pants.
Never mind the concussion.
Logan panicked letting Remus fall back onto the cold floor.
He stood up, properly this time, adrenaline flushing his system. His chest heaved embarrassingly and his body shook lightly without his control. Not this again.
----
Remus felt groggy all over. Which wasn’t exactly awful, he’d been through worse voluntarily, but it didn’t make it great either.
His face was rubbing against something mushy and damp. Aside from that, whatever he was lying on felt very comfortable, in a weird contrast with his overall soreness. Right, the lightspeed had bashed him against the wall of the compartment.
Wait.
Were was Logan?
He stood up, only to slip and hit his nose quite painfully against the rubber flooring.
“Fuck!” he shouted.
After a rush of footsteps, Remus was able to make out the image of Logan’s shoes.
Remus rolled until he was staring at Logan’s steady and serious gaze. Damn it, he’s hot. Not that he would tell him, at least not without the intention to annoy him, that one’s easy enough.
“You seem to be focusing, as much as you can usually manage, granted. I will need you to sit up and complete a few tests to make sure you haven’t received long-lasting damage” he said as he moved to grab Remus by the armpits, pulling him onto the makeshift bedding Remus is only now realising it to be moss. “I told you before, but I’m almost certain you don’t remember, so I’ll repeat myself: you most likely have a concussion”.
“Kinky”.
Logan sighed in response.
“Remus, I am aware that the way you behave makes people believe you just got hit in the head, but I really need to make an assessment of your health, so I would appreciate it if you could quit it with the nonsense”.
“I don’t have a concussion, so no need”.
“You just fell on the floor”.
“No, I didn’t”.
“Then why is your nose bleeding?”
“Well, I’m on my knees in front of you, guess my body’s just getting ideas”.
Logan stared at him for a moment, completely inexpressive, but, there was something about his demeanour that Remus couldn’t quite put his finger on that made it look almost as if… the other man frowned and that train of thought might as well have crashed against the wall of a ridiculous botanic compartment, leaving two wagons stranded together and angry, and confused, and if that was taking the metaphor too far Remus didn’t even care because how dare Logan look as if gave an ever-flipping fuck whether he lived or he died?
“Quit that and let me check if you’re okay” Logan crouched by his side and made a move to touch him. He stopped himself right by Remus’ face, asking for permission. “May I?”
Remus leant away.
“No need, I’m as good as if I had come… well, maybe I did while I was out”.
In response, Logan clenched the hand that, just a moment ago, had tried to touch his cheek.
“You know what I’m trying to do”, Logan said between his teeth, “and I understand that you want to retaliate for past misgivings, but this is not the moment to do so--”
“Oh, sorry, is there someone speaking?”
“Remus, you’re being childish”.
Logan was beginning to lose his patience. Good.
“Hmm… must have imagined it”.
“For fuck’s sake, I get that you’re angry with me, but can’t you at least prioritize your own wellbeing? If you have a concussion I need to know you’re recovering properly, it’s dangerous to leave it unchecked. What does it matter who is doing the assessment? You may ignore me once I finish if you want to, but, at least, let me make sure you’re not going to die on me”.
“Why would you care?”
“Are you serious? Remus, I don’t want you to die!”
“News flash encic-lo-pedia, we’re going to in here”.
“And you would have out there! Your shield was failing. Hadn’t you jumped out into space without thinking I could have fled the compartment by myself and all would be good”.
“Oh, so now it’s my fault I tried to save you! Well, sorry for helping, clearly you can do everything by yourself, sorry I ruined everything for you, Logan”.
“Did I say you ruined something? Did you hear me say that?”
“I fucking heard you say that if I hadn’t tried to save you then you wouldn’t be stuck here with me, well, suck it up nice and slow!”
Logan’s expression scrunched up in something between offended and hurt.
“Would you rather I had let you die then? How can you ask me if I care if you could die now?”
“It isn’t about that”.
“Then what is it about? Come on, use your words!”
Remus surged forward and grabbed Logan by his collar.
“You left me!”
A deep breath. No anger to match him, nor the decency to show regret. Logan was petrified for what felt like an eternity, and, anything, whatever he would deign to give would be better than this awful nothing that had fallen between them.
He stared at the distance. Running away yet again.
“Please, let me make sure you’re okay” he whispered.
For my Juliocctis soulmates/childhood friends/fae julien au. (I just keep adding flavors to this). I like the idea of Julien looking like he usually does but when he gets really intense about Occtis his features turn a little odd? Unearthly? Like his features and teeth are suddenly sharper, his eyes have a very very faint glow, and his voice has a hypnotic cadence to it.
So, after a long hiatus, I can inform you that I've written 30 pages for the last chapter and I'm one scene away from finishing it.
This is the first chapter, in case anyone was curious:
Disembodied Chap. 1
It follows the premise of what would happen if Logan and Remus fused.
If anyone wants to be tagged, let me know in a comment!!!
Given that I've made progress, I'll give you guys another sneak peek:
Remus said he loved him. What a strange concept.
It defied everything.
Since they were metaphysical beings they shouldn’t be susceptible to pesky chemical reactions, especially someone whose entire job description amounted to logic. Yet, he felt. Plenty. When he first had told Remus he was in love with him, Logan had made it clear that he understood none of it, but he felt it nonetheless. Just as he felt strongly about Remus’ declaration. Could it even be considered as such? In context, it had been more of a slip-up. Now an unmendable slip-up.
‘Not that I regret the irreversible nature of it’ Logan thought.
Remus had seemed uncomfortable at the notion. Which was a lot considering almost nothing made Remus uncomfortable. Maybe it was unfair to scrutinize his posture in the matter when Logan had reacted by offering a few encouraging words and reassurance. Also, said reaction could be mistaken with rejection. His reduced knowledge of such things didn’t give him much to work with. Luckily Remus did know him, so he must be sure that him not stating clearly that he did not reciprocate meant he hadn’t been rejected.
At least, not exactly.
Logan could not reciprocate.
There were far too many reasons why. To get started, he wasn’t supposed to. And, yes, he had overcome his qualms to partake in this relationship, but not by choice. Logan had been driven to Remus by need. By the other far too many reasons why spending time with him was better than most things, and how he was horrible in the most optimal manner. He… he…
If he reciprocated it would be a choice by definition. Nothing could pressure him into doing it, as he was already a partner to Remus, so this nonsensical need of his to have him by his side, emotionally of all things, was covered.
The worst part was knowing. Knowing he could reciprocate without lying, not that he would ever consider something as ridiculous. That on itself was… terrifying might be hyperbolic, but technically correct. It would forever set him apart from everything he aspired to be perceived as. Already the unspoken notion rendered him fallible. It made his very existence a paradox.
As a fortunate change on his train of thought, and yet, a reaffirmation of the calibre of his concerns, Remus stirred awake and Logan cast any mental ponderance aside to give him his undivided attention.
“I’m awake, how did you--”.
“Yes. I noticed”, Logan interrupted.
Remus wasn’t someone who usually felt shame, but, at the current moment, it was overcasting anything else, especially taking into account that he had woken up and only now he bothered to think about throwing himself onto Logan and having his way with him.
The barracuda saw that thick ass and wanted a bite lmao. But poor Remus! He almost drowns AND he has to deal with the deaths of his fellow crew! That fucking sucks.
Hi Anon!!!
The barracuda actually wanted to help Remus’ supposed droopy ass. It was an act of charity! Poor barracuda, it didn’t know there was a sheet of acrylic glass in the way! /j
Yes, Remus is going to have bit of an awful time. But I’m going to mention he will start seeing a therapist (for obvious reasons) and he’s going to get plenty of support from his friends.
