1 ) WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE SMELL LIKE ? Hiyori usually smells okay. The most common scent associated with her is actually just sweat from training or fighting. Sometimes she can smell of whatever she has cooked for the day, but like Kensei, she does wear an apron. Her general scent is ‘clean cotton’. It’s cheap soap that she’s been using for years and years. Obviously, when she was recovering, she always always had this horrible mixture of smelling like sterile bandages and coppery blood whenever her bandages bled through. Recovery was slow because every portion of her bowel, organs, kidneys, spleen needed to restitch and heal - along with her skin.
If she is going anywhere special, she will make an effort to smell nicer.
2 ) HOW OFTEN DOES YOUR MUSE BATHE / SHOWER ? ANY HABITS ?
Hiyori is not a fan of showering often. She doesn’t trust modern showers and will refuse to get in one unless she’s thrown in. Even then, expect the sink to hit your face if you’re the one whose done that. She would splash cold water on her face every morning and after training/fighting. Maybe if she’s extremely sweaty, Hiyori will even scrape her body with a scourer and pour water from a bucket with a little jug (the water is coming from a known source!). She’s actually small enough to fit in many buckets so she’s always clean. She has an aversion to water because after showers she’s always so cold and spends a good portion shivering long after. However, she does like relaxing baths and can take her time washing dirt from her fingernails. Soaking her aching muscles and body and just watching bubbles float away. But this is only occasionally.
3 ) DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE ANY TATTOOS OR PIERCINGS ? Hiyori has her ears pierced and that’s about it. As for tattoos, not many people know aside from the visored that she has tiny swirly tattoos on her shoulder blades. And even fewer people know that those swirls are actually the same ones Kirio Hikifune has on her cheeks.
4 ) ANY BODY MOVEMENT QUIRKS ( EX : LEG SHAKING ) ? Hiyori is always tense. Constantly uncomfortable around shinigami moreso than humans. She only truly relaxes around the people she knows the best and that would be the visored. With them, she will be a lot more affectionate. A lot more open with her postures and not just shove her hands in her pockets and hunch her shoulders in her jacket. She opens up during battles, of course. Those fighting stances are a lot more natural - - but in social situations, she is no longer the happy little shinigami she used to be that would often get excited about going to karaoke or doing missions.
She also tends to bite her nails when she is extremely nervous - -especially regarding people she cares about. She wishes she could fight their battles for them. E.g. Ichigo fighting off his hollowfication.
5 ) WHAT DO THEY SLEEP IN ?
T-shirt and shorts or some comfy cotton pyjamas. However, Hiyori struggles a lot with sleep so often falls asleep/naps during the day in her usual tracksuit sans the jacket.
6 ) WHAT’S THEIR FAVORITE PIECE OF CLOTHING ?
Her hairclips. She thinks they are adorable. But of course, bury her in her tracksuit. It’s comfortable and easy to fight in. Plus her jacket and trousers have deep pockets so you can store a lot of food in them.
7 ) WHAT DO THEY DO WHEN THEY WAKE UP ?
It depends on if she actually went to sleep or not. If she has had a few hours of rest in the night, she will be up extremely early to kill the hollow during the early hours of the day. Train with Kubikiri Orochi, work on her bankai or if she’s in a very good mood - -she will make breakfast for the other visored. But usually Hiyori is generally in a bad mood in the mornings and is horrible to everyone in existence.
Post-Aizen battle, she sleeps a little better and often goes through washing her face, brushing her teeth, styling her hair, getting ingredients ready for breakfast and lunch and then goes to train.
8 ) HOW DO THEY SLEEP ? POSITION ?
Not well. She’s a fitful sleeper and often tosses and turns in the night. She gets up at the slightest movement or noise and then has trouble going back to sleep. It’s why she genuinely loves training/fighting because she needs to be exhausted enough to fall asleep. When she does fall asleep, it’s usually to curl up in a tiny ball. If she;s sleeping with someone else, she’s a lot more relaxed. She’ll seriously use their body like a heater and scoot as close to you as possible no matter how much space you have. You will also get your covers stolen. You might even get to hear her tiny, hummingbird heartbeat if she’s trusted you completely.
For obvious size reasons, Hiyori is the little spoon. But she will stomp over your body and shove you off if you point it out. She will also have no hesitation kicking you literally out of bed if you snore or say something stupid.
9 ) WHAT DO THEIR HANDS FEEL LIKE ? They are so small. Tiny bones and tiny wrists, that they feel almost as fragile as a little bird or something in your hand. However, don’t let their appearance and fragility fool you because they are definitely trained in Hakuda and swung a blade that is bigger than most Zanpakuto in Soul Society. Her palms are not as rough as most would believe. Mainly thanks to Hikifune and Lisa teaching her how to look after her hands. After all, she will need to use them for a long time and therefore takes good care of them. Her nails are always clipped neat and short.
10 ) IF YOU KISSED THEM, WHAT WOULD THEY USUALLY TASTE LIKE ?
If she hasn’t rammed her head into yours for stealing a kiss, then she usually tastes of whatever she has eaten. Hiyori really loves food - so she’ll often taste of what she’s had to eat most recently. Usually matcha tea, coffee or something salty.
