“Only secure leaders exhibit servanthood.” It’s been almost two weeks since my Bro came to visit me in Ghana. It was easy getting him here from Thailand but together with my Bros in Ghana, we worked it out 💪🏾I always love when I get to host my fellow disasporans here in Ghana. I’m hosting my family 🙏🏾🖤 So Far, we have taken him to Cape Coast to visit the slave castles and we also toured him around Accra. Today I am celebrating 39 supposed calendars years on planet Earth 🌏I arrived here by the gateway/portal known as @yallen3. I could've have chosen a better Vessel. My day didn't start easy at all today! It came with blessings that presented them selves as challenges at first. The ride to Cape Coast from the Cape Three Points in the western region was not easy at all..In fact, since the rains came early the roads were not good. The men only had to get out once to push the tro tro thru the mud which was much better the three times we had to push coming into Cape Three Points. No more retreats in June! Cape Coast Castle is one of the three slave castles in Ghana. Slaves were held captive for up to three months as they waited for the next fleet to arrive. The conditions were in humane and not all slaves made it out alive. It was sad yet rewarding to have the honor to walk through the “Door of Return”.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) spent time with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in Ghana on Thursday, tweeting photos of the pair at the Door of No Return, where Westerners took Africans through before taking them to slave ships.
