I found this amazing video of my once teacher and mentor Doris Hicks. She's a wonderful actress and coach, and has worked with many other star artists. In this video she's in Rome working with local actors. She starts off by speaking about some of the most basic points that every actor needs to answer within character exploration:
- the overall need of the character
- the overall action from the character
- the most important person (needed by the character) that does not show up
- surrounding circumstances
