so. specimen is part of an alien species from a planet called Andromeda! Andromeda is known for their scientific advancement, especially in medicine and body modifications. they’ve made so much progress by using their cloning technology. clones dont have a “sentient” status. theyre seen as disposable and reusable.
Specimen was made in a clone lab on earth, cloned from an Andromedan junior biologist named Em .
a short while after she was cloned, the lab was vacated due to a meltdown. She grew up in the lab alone, with no company but the old recordings from the scientists that ran the lab, some biology textbooks, and the Andromeda Scientific Code of Ethics.
animals and creatures would find their way into the lab and she would splice her own dna with them, improving her own body, mutating herself...
she blames every bad thing that’s happened to her on Em, and devotes her entire life to “overcoming” the “issues” of the person she was cloned from. Em was hyper-empathetic, which is seen as a serious disorder to Andromedans, a species known for their extreme utilitarianism.
therefore, Specimen holds her uncaring attitude over everything, seeing herself as a scientist more than a person... until she meets the queen of a nearby kingdom, a werewolf named Dee, who is looking to cure her lycanthropy by any means necessary.
