How does one carve an image of God? Anglicizing local names and words was a popular pastime for our foreign masters. To the foreign tongue, Kalikata became Calcutta, Kalebung became Kalimpong, Dorjeling became Darjeeling, and Swami Vivekanand became, well, Swami Vive-ka-munand (awkward clap).
