mmkay I like them both equally as musicians and tbh they're kind of hard to compare anyway??? like I can see how you'd prefer one over the other just bc they're pretty vastly different musically imho but I just rlly like them both. Plus Gerard's lyrics are storytelling for the most part, he's talked about it before!!! (like drugstore perfume cri) Like, a bunch of mcr songs are storytelling??? The whole albums are stories?? Frank's are just a more direct form of poetic expression I,,

to be fair i think a lot of these folks are teenagers that dont understand that “angsty” and “deep” are not necessarily synonyms of each other.
just because gerards lyrics aren’t always sad does not mean they aren’t personal, or don’t have special meaning to him. just because these kids can’t relate to them shouldn’t take away from their profoundness to him.
