I get so annoyed when people say Oberyn got cocky in his fight against the mountain or that he should have just quieted down and finished him because that’s not the point !!!
The point was Elia.
The point was her children.
The point was the atrocities committed against Dorne.
The point was that they politically covered up the murder of their beloved sister and they all knew it.
They were comfortable sweeping it under a rug and moving on - there was a Dornish Princess wasn’t there?
Oberyn was going to make sure everyone who knew was held accountable. He was going to make them uncomfortable. He was going to put a mirror up to everyone in that court and let them see the rot.
He was going to make them remember and remember well.
