Spanish artist Jordi Penalva illustrated relatively few book covers, but illustrated hundreds of magazine and comic covers for Fleetway Publications in England and Warren Publications in America. There's a very dynamic, comic-book feel to the figures on this cover, which is somewhat at odds with the content, a fairly cerebral and not especially action-packed Military SF novel from venerable author Gordon R. Dickson.

Edition in french language of “ The Genetic General”. Series Galaxie-Bis #20/[084] at Editions Opta [April 1971]. In the USA, “The Genetic General” had been pre-published in “Astounding” [May, June, July, 1959] entitled Dorsai.
