born in the u.s. he was given his english name by default along with his brother at birth . their mother still gave them their korean names which was documented on their files per legality , but did not use or acknowledge often growing up . later on , around 23 , sam does explore his culture further and his curiosity of his name pushes his longing to know more about their family , to feel a sense of belonging and identity .
important note , along with his backstory , life upbringing and further developments , that sam has a younger brother by 3 years . a quite pivotal role to his character . the likeness of his existence will be present in mentions , threads and thoughts through headcanons and interactions .

very expressive . quite emotional , speaks with his heart first not his mind . tends to be on overdrive . the pressure of being the oldest loomed over his head since being put in the adoption system , he felt the extreme stress and fear of being the eldest and their customs of the typical responsibility over his younger brother played a huge part of his anxiety that it stuck over time . despite his forward demeanor , on the good side , when rarely caught and usually ( with the right ship/dynamic/person ) , he’s incredibly loving , he’s deprived of love therefore he has a lot to give but often never knows how to show it . he’s humour is mostly through reactive responses , he’s attentive to the people he cares about . he will literally do anything for those that are important in his life , sometimes a little too much . he’s touchy , incredibly . touch is his love language , his way of communication when words can’t express his true emotions . he’s a homebody . he longs for intimacy and when he has it , he is a giver . he will cherish you and treat you as if nothing and no one else mattered .

his style also varies and quite a variety of changes over time , sometimes due to his jobs and looks to mask his trail or personality. but his go to is usually on the comfier to modern style . jackets , flannels , often basic tees and no logos . He’s kept the consistency since they were young to not care about brands , if he has the money and spend it on something it would usually be towards jackets , sometimes he is Robin Hood coded , he wears a watch that he stole out of a man that he punched that once was rude to an elderly grandma at a market . he also wears either trainers or combat boots due to the fact that he walks a lot and takes a lot of physically demanding jobs .
