This message is not only for the fans of Frozen, It’s for every person in all the existent fandoms. You perhaps are in love with a particular artist, thus keeping many of their works on your pc. This is not a crime; it’s acceptable, especially if such works have a personal meaning. Nevertheless, It’s quite different when you share such art pieces on your social platforms or blogs, and it is worse when you do not reference its creator.
... Maybe you are a rookie in the community and want to have likes on such websites, possibly to be known among the fandom, so you opted to do this practice and posted such fan art on your social platforms. In a matter of days, you perhaps will accomplish your objective… But have you ever thought of the consequences of such actions? Have you ever stopped to think about what the real artist would do or feel when discovering such action? This simple deed could jeopardize his entire living; many artists do this activity for a living. When you simply share this content for others without their permission, you just had destroyed one of their sources of making money and thus jeopardizing their survival.
Furthermore, When you simply posted that image, you are already hurting the Selfsteem of your favorite artist. Why? You might think, nah? I am just sharing his content for making him famous. Yeah, maybe your intentions are good, but for the simple fact of not adding his/her name to their piece, You are claiming that same piece as your own. In order words, You are Stealing and Deceiving others in such action, Making the original creator feel awful and thus forcing him to consider to continue sharing their works or… leave forever from the entire community.
So, what you should do? Simply follow the next rules, these are easier to remember and with it you could do a greater good
If you are going to post a picture (fan art) in your blog, add the artist's name. If you do it, then in this way, you are honoring the Author and thus making him/her famous to continue his work among the community.
