When you fight: 18 Who is truly trying to hold it together and not lash out at you. Your persistence of trying to help him with things annoys him to no end. Who doesn’t apologize when it’s all over. He just moves on with his day and expects you to do the same

When you fight: Omega Who is not above raising his voice at you telling you to leave the lab all together. “The lab is no place to have a breakdown” he’ll tell you. Not to mention he’ll ignore you days on end if it comes down to it. Omega, unlike his younger segment will not apologize under any circumstance. Even if he’s in the wrong he will expect you to do the apologizing. Depending on how long it’s been since the fight started he might even tell you to get on your knees and tell him why he should start giving you love and affection again.

When you fight: 45 Who doesn’t let the fight last more than a few hours at most. He’s the most level headed segment when it comes to you; only beaten by the original Zandik. He’s accidentally raised his voice at you a few times and he immediately takes a deep breath and apologizes for it almost immediately. He likes the relationship between you two and doesn’t wish to see i perish over that stupid tone of voice. He’s the fairest when it comes to forgiveness. Whenever something happens he expects whoever is at fault to apologize first, then the other will follow up with their sorries.

When you fight: 65 Who just speaks matters a factly and didn’t expect to unintentionally hurt you in the process. While he doesn’t think he did anything wrong, he’ll still apologize for it. It may take a few hours for him to say it, and it sounds like the most forced apology ever; but he rather just get this over with than let the tension linger any longer.

When you fight: 85 Who expects you two to calmly discuss the issue at hand. He has no time for mind games at his old age. If you need a breather by yourself go on and take it; afterwards he hope you’ll be able to have a quiet talk about what is going on currently. The end goal is that by the end of the night you two can be cuddled in bed together with no lingering feelings or worries about the earlier squabble.

In fact, I doubt he’d so much as look at anyone who doesn’t hold a significant amount of value in his eyes, unless it a ‘necessary’ situation where it was either unintentional crossfire, or he desperately needed test subjects.

If he ever managed to fall sick, or sustain an injury that keeps him from being productive? Good luck. He’d be the most insufferable, pissy, unbearable person you’d ever have the misfortune of meeting.

It wouldn’t be the cute “I’ll make you some soup, you rest.”, no. You’d be fighting with him constantly. Just leave him to sulk it out until he’s better, unless you want to euthanise him yourself.

Although he’s as far away from affectionate as you could possible get, he still shows his appreciation for you in certain ways.

He’ll often keep track of your sleeping/eating habits and scold you if you start lacking in either; or you’ll find yourself being carried to a couch or to bed if you happen to fall asleep while working.

Don’t let him know you’re awake though, because if you do he’ll instantly put you down and all physical contact will be banned until he’s overcome whatever it is he’s feeling (Flustered.)

Even though he doesn’t eat much more than the lab made nutritional blocks that everyone has affectionately compared to biological warfare, he’s a surprisingly good cook.

He’s occasionally mentioned that he views cooking or baking as a form of chemistry! You might even catch him with his smug ass smile whenever you show genuine surprise at just how delicious his cookies are.

His sleeping habits are about as stable as his personality. He’ll either make up an elixir to keep himself awake for two straight weeks, or he’ll sleep for 48 hours straight. No in between.

When you do get him into bed with you, he’s not one for cuddling. He’ll be stiff as a board and flat on his back. He will allow you to snuggle up to him though! He’ll never admit it, but he actually kind of enjoys the odd, sickly feeling of vulnerability whenever you fall asleep on his chest.

When all is said and done, no matter his eccentricities, you definitely hold a very special place in his heart. You’ll never hear that from him, though.

Little 8 is definitely scared of your illness and fragility since you are the only other parental figure he can look up to that isnt another segment or Zandik himself.

So when you show any signs that you are getting worse.He will not stop staring at you.There are a million words going through this little boy's head who has a hard time expressing his worry towards you.He will bring you his aranara plushies for fixing and drawings of them or his projects just to keep an eye on you while he is supposedly explaining how he wants to capture them just to see you talk to him.Its a way for him to reassure himself that you are alright.

There are times he has taken it upon himself and climbed up on your bed and slept next to you with the excuse that 18 has been mean to him or tried to scare him by hiding under his bed again but in reality hes deeply afraid something will happen to you as if you will disappear into thin air.You can imagine 18's surprise in the morning as hes getting scowlded by you for something he hasnt done at least this time.

Hes stealing tools from the other segments,trying to check up on you like all the grown ups do when they see your illness flarring up.Coping their manerism and advices as soon as they realize there is something wrong and as tiny as he may be he can be really protective over you.

segment 18

Hes not caring or overprotective as some of the other segments on this list.Leaving you on your own devices to live like you normally would.In his mnd he's not going to sit there and babysit a grown adult no matter how sick or weak you are,he has better things to do than that and you already live in the lab,sure if something happens to you some other segement will notice and solve the issue.

Well....he pretends not to care,hearing even a single sneeze or sees you are not in the best shape,you can see it in real time when his heart falls down to his feet and in a very non chalant way he takes care of you,in a desperate attempt to try andfix up his mistake all while complaining that he could be doing something better.

Hes embarrassed by how much he cares about you.Trying to sneak in the phrase ''dont tell the others'' every time he nurses you back to full health.

He feels incredibly guilty if you suddenly get bed ridden because of your illness has flared up.Especially since he has been such a dick towards you and refusing to take care of you as he was assigned to. He will come at your bedside and with a rare gentleness is begging you not to die on them.

Segment 25

Hes pretty much the surveilance system in the lab.Hes assigned by Zandik himself to be an observer and report back his finds to everyone so they can have a meeting together.He will be performing an autopsy but his eyes will follow you everywhere you moved in the lab.

Segment 25 comes from an era where Zandik was more clinical than a scientist so he treats every issue you have with medicine.Be prepared to have full examinations and blood tests every week.His excuse for this is that he just wants to make sure he finds any abnormality before it does the damage on your health more than it already is.

25 has an elixir for everything.You got scratched? here is your elixir to heal it,you are feeling a little bit down?here is an elixir that boosts your immune system.

Hes one of the calmest segments,taking care of you with gentleness and without being too obnoxious.Patching you up and helping you in your everyday routine.Every problem has a solution as long the right path have been made for it to work.

His touch is even softer and feather like,from stitches to getting punctured by needles for the blood tests.He leaves no trace of the procedure behind.

Though dont let this calm demeanor fool you.He can be very pushy when it comes to taking your medication and i mean it.Even being one second late can trigger this guy,he wants it to be on time he has assigned it.He will give you the strongest death glare with his glasses shining dramatically by the flurocent light to get you to do it.

segment 35

Omega is very strange in his approach towards and how he takes care of you,best described as both hot and cold.This doesnt mean he doesnt feel protective over you or doesnt take care of you but the way he does it,is bizzare.

He will try to scowld you on some old habits you have picked up from the past that might cause your health to deter more than it already is yet he will not do anything to stop you from doing them unlike the other segments and even Zandik himself would do.Hes the least threatening because of this.

Instead he will constantly remind you of the consenquneces of your actions to your health with full blown power point presentations of said consenquences every chance he got.It was absolutely necessary to remind you of your mortality.He is also the type to be ''i told you so'' when you came to him to when you are not feeling well.Regardless he takes care of you without complaining.

He does understand you on a deeper level that being constantly under watch and cared for can be exhausting.Getting bindded to a fate you probably never wanted to begin with,he pitied you in his own selfish way.He decides to let you be free and he will always be there for you when you needed him.after all you both needed each other in some way,you to survive and him to be in his life.

He has suggested to replace some organs that might be faulty or pose more issues in the future.He has even suggested to make you a better body,one that doesnt have the limitations of your current one.Of course there were a lot of risks to this plan of his but hes willing to take them to see you actually live your life without any fear and what ifs.

segment 45

Let's begin by saying,hes the perfect balance of taking care of you and being protective without suffocating you unlike a specific someone on this list *cough cough segment 65*

He is the only one that cares about your mental health,something that none of the others have actually considered by this point and being the public face of The Doctor came with some advantages he definitely exploited.

His idea of taking care doesnt evolve helping you with every day chores or borderline babysitting you but is to take you out and interact with the world outside of the lab.Taking you to the opera house,dinner dates and even going shopping with you.Spoiling you by buying you everything you wanted.

Life is too short for you to be locked away in the lab constantly,far away from any interraction.He is well aware of the risks in taking you out and what could happen to your health but it is worth the risk when he sees how happy you get and finally getting room to breath and be yourself.

He has tried to reason with 65 and Zandik in the past which only resulted with more arguments and them bringing up how careless it is to take you out of the safety they have made.

The lab maybe one of the safest places for you to be at but it was a guilded cage.if it werent for him,the other segments including the original Zandik will have more things to worry about than your physical health.

segment 65

He and Zandik go hand and hand for who is the most overprotective when it comes to you.If it were up to 65 you would never see the daylight ever again.He rarely let's you out of the lab to begin with.

You are to never be alone,hes always glued to your side when Zandik isnt present so have fun trying to get some time alone since he cant even be convinced to give you some space.He thinks that if you stay on your own for too long and somehow you stumbled or a gust of wind hit you,you would die.

He can be very controling over you and over your life but not out of malice but in good faith.He believes by taking control over your every action he can keep you safe and avoid any mishaps from ever happening.

Unsuprisingly to no one,this has caused many arguments between the two of you since he treats you like you are made out of glass,i mean you are but it can end up really overwhelming when you are not the one having control over your own life.

He will constantly bicker you with the phrase ''you should go and rest'' after every minor action you have performed.

When you do manage to get him off of you.Hes always not far behind you.Lurking in the shadows and observing you in case he needs to intervine.His big coat and crow mask usually does the job to scare any unwanted guests.

As the second in command hes not afraid to correct any of the other segments if he thinks they are not doing their proper duties they have been assigned to.

Og!Zandik

Surprisingly og!Zandik is not as over protective as his segment counterpart but he is protective just not in the same obsessive way.He uses his segments to carry on the orders in his stead and its his way of keeping you within his grasp.

Just because he let's his segments do all the work for him doesnt mean he doesnt care.In fact he cares the most out of everyone in the lab about your condition and not being able to cure you has been a really heavy blow to his ego.

So he has made a garden for you to pass your time,a small pocket from his time in sumeru where you dont have to worry about reality.This feels mostly as an apology from him not being able to cure you.

he has baby proofed the whole lab since the day he met you and funnily enough he didnt have to do it for when he created segment 8.

He is aware he cant keep you locked up in your room and the lab.The only thing he can do is to simply take care of you and use his research in hopes of a cure or at least a path where you wouldnt be sick anymore.

He cant really help it but feel a deep sense of despair when he sees you as any day can be your last literally and he can do nothing about it to stop it.

He has contiplated omega's idea multiple times even though the risks are high and the main reason that is stopping him from actually going through with it.He hates it that the only solution for your problem is heading towards that direction as he wants that plan to be a last ditch effort in case of an emergency

This has fueled him with determination,he was a scientist and an inovator,he was going to find something eventually.So he will conduct experiments on you,not the torturous kind who he performed on his unwilling test subjects but to find a cure of some short or an elixir that will magically strenghten you up.

And he will not stop until he finds an answer and he will keep going even if it takes the last remaining years of his life.

⌗ if you’re having trouble putting an article of clothing on, he’s already there to tighten any straps, buckles or laces that needed to be pulled together, fixing your bows, tying your ties, helping your arms through the holes of your coat — everything. at the first sight or hearing something clatter to the ground, he’s already there assisting wherever you needed him to.

⌗ if it’s late into the evening or early into the morning, he’ll either pluck the brush from your grasp to brush through your hair — no matter how long or short it is. and if it’s not brushing that needs to be done, he’ll help with putting it together either for you to sleep comfortably with your hair, or with styling for the day. his hair has gone through plenty of phases, and for the most part he can deduce what you need — however your input is always invited.

⌗ injured yourself in any way? the doctor is already assessing your condition, cleaning up wherever you hurt yourself and patching you up with a little kiss on the spot that hurts once he’s finished, if walking is something you’re unable to do, he’s sweeping you off your feet no matter how much you protest. how dare you think he can’t carry you? of course he can, and he very much will.

⌗ there’s a formal event that needs attending? whether it’s one that you have been invited to or him, maybe even both, you’re always there as a unit. he’s escorting you in by the arm, making sure to be within reach in case you wore any shoes that were difficult to walk in, but also because he wants everyone to know not to mess with you. and in the event that they make you uncomfortable in any way, say if he walks away for a second to get you a drink or snack you were eyeing, unless he was being called over by a colleague, trust he’s already back at your side with an excuse at the ready, and a mental note of who he needs to take care of when the party’s over.

⌗ in the meantime, he’s dancing with you along the pristine floor, background noise and characters drowning around you as he holds your gaze. to him, nothing else existed in that moment but you and the music that was scripting your movements in conjunction with his own. and if you feel insecure in any way about an inability to dance, he’s making sure to teach you as you go or keeping it as a sway for ease if you still want to try but do something a little more simple to follow. either way, he’s eating up whatever he can get with you.

⌗ if you’ve fallen asleep anywhere but your bed, trust he’s already picking you up off of wherever you had passed out, and is bringing you right into your comforters to tuck you in. and if he’s making any attempt after that to return to his work while your hand tugs at his clothing, he’s surrendering without much reluctance to being tugged into bed with you. whether that’s to curl up to his chest or pull him on top of you as a weighted blanket of some kind, he’s letting it happen.

⌗ if you’re having trouble sleeping or simply glancing with fluttering lashes between him and the piano, dottore will happily play for you without much convincing ( unless he’s feeling a little teasing.. ). the piano has always been something quite private for him, with only a select few having heard him play, but he’ll always lift that pristine cover to play you a piece. and whether that is for you to lean against him while he plays, dance, sing or hum along to the melody — he’s perfectly content to provide the music. alternatively, if you wish to play with him or be taught, don’t worry, he’s happy to place his hands over yours and teach you a piece or two.

⌗ if he’s up before you, he always makes you something to drink in the morning — whether that is coffee, tea, juice — or even some water. he always makes sure to have a glass ready of whatever next to his for you to both have upon waking up. and if you like to sleep in, he usually leaves it ready for you to make yourself whenever you get up, or if he’s present and hears you wake up — he’ll prepare it.

⌗ oh there’s a downpour or snow? he’s got the umbrella out and ready to hold out for the both of you to share. he doesn’t want you getting sick, after all, and if you’re worried about your hair or clothing, then he’s worried on your behalf, and taking the necessary precautions to ensure it’s not sullied in any way.

⌗ for whatever reason you always begged for him to remove his mask, and although it was such a silly thing to ask, he found himself wearing it less around you after witnessing the way you looked at him as though he’d hung both the stars and moon in the supposed false sky. you called him pretty, showering him with praises on how beautiful and handsome he was when you were just as much if not more than he was.. but it made his chest flutter a little anyway, if only to find you gazing at him with such adoration in your eyes.

⌗ if you’ve been having a hard time and you need a shoulder to cry on or to get something off your chest, here’s there to listen. maybe he isn’t the best when it comes to these things, but i’d like to think that he’s still relatively informed on how to comfort a person — or he’ll make sure to educate himself on what to do to ensure that you’re taken care of and feeling better. he’ll listen, hold you if you want him to, allow you to squeeze his hand if that’s what helps, or he’ll bring you something to eat; anything you need, he’s doing his best to try and return your happiness to you, and silently plotting against whatever or whoever dampened your mood.
