Something i noticed was the fatui guys were introduced as extremely evil, motivated and self absorbed (I'm talking only about pantalone and dottore) from the very start of the game. With dottore we even know about the countless crimes he committed and the lives he destroyed, with pantalone we could get a good idea of him being very cunning and that knew how to get his ways.
So, when we see dottore playing the piano for pantalone and sharing a very obviously intimate moment, most of the fandom appreciates that scene saying it makes dottores (and pantalones )charecter so much more human.
Meanwhile, the fatui girls (arlechinno, sandrone, signora and columbina) have also been established as creepy, off putting and evil(sandrone cut off someones tongue, signora was shown as being very conceited, columbina was described as uncanny and offputting etc). So when we get a scene of those 4 being obviously very close and playful, one would think it also added more dimensions to their character, but, I saw a large majority of the fandom criticizing that descision. They were using other harbingers voicelines to say hoyo rewrote genshin to make the female chars more appealing/waifu-bait (they obviously did but that's not the main point).
Is it because women are expected to fit into a certain box of a few set stereotypes and charecteristics? Aren't women human too? Every human has their silly moments. Even the most evil people will have moments where they feel so so human that we have to accept that no matter how evil, even they are a part of us. So despite them being established as evil, they can also be someone who enjoys tea parties or has pillow fights.
