I do this for you, child.
"Runa!!" "Mm?"
The blonde girl turned to the sound, a smile on her face as it always was. She tilted her head at the other girl, spinning and walking forward with a slight skip in her step. Snowkat crossed her arms with a vaguely amused expression, watching the giddy blonde approach.
"We ran out of snacks," She explained, and Angelkat looked up from his position on the couch, gave a small smile to Runa before sinking further on the couch.
"You wanna come with me to get some more?" "Oh, yeah!!" Runa beamed, bolting from the room and down the hall to her bedroom, "Let me get ready!!" She closed the door, muffling the giggles of her friends, probably directed at her, before dashing around and picking sunny clothes to put on. She picked out a pale pink shirt that was a little big for her, fell off one shoulder, but wore anyway because the heart on the front was cute. Besides, she had a tank top underneath with thick straps, and lots of girls wore shirts like that. She settled for white tights and a skirt of the same color, and all in all, she looked like a walking valentine. She clipped a flower pin onto her headband, hopping back up and catching sight of her reflection.
She stopped, reaching up out of instinct. She touched gingerly under the left eye. Red. Her soulmate’s eye.
People were often startled by the color, sometimes even commented on how strange it was that a sweet looking girl like her had a soulmate with such a ghastly eye color.
But Runa thought it was lovely. It wasn’t blood-red. Or rust, although those were pretty colors, they just didn’t match her soulmate’s.
No. It was a cherry color; like candy.
She sighed, blinking, turning her head in different angles to inspect both eyes. Her own, a lively sea-green color, contrasting naturally with her pale skin and light hair, a nice, gentle color a sweet girl like her would be expected to have.
And theirs, her soulmate's, candy cherry red, startlingly bright and vivid, sticking out like a sore thumb against her soft features. Who in the world has an eye like that?
"Runa!!"
She jumped, scrambling to get her mary-jane shoes and slip them on over her white tights. "Coming!!" She threw her bedroom door open, running out and skidding to a stop in the living room. She gave her friends a crooked smile and a small wiggle of her fingers. "I'm ready," "Come on, dork," Snowkat chucked, rolling her eyes as she pulled the blonde girl out the door.

"Its freezing," "Yeah?" Snow laughed, quirking an eyebrow at her companion as they entered the convenience store with a small ding, "Maybe you should stop wearing skirts in the middle of winter, then, darling." Runa gave her a small frown before waving her hand dismissively, walking off in the direction of the sweets isle. She heard Snowkat chuckle behind her as she turned the corner, turning to stick her tounge out at her for half a second, and in that moment she slammed straight into someone with a squeal of surprise. The person made a similar sound, stumbling back before falling, both of the two instinctively wrapping their arms around the other. Runa made an admittedly embarrassing sound as they landed, like a whimpering puppy. The boy made a sound like a hiss, immediately trying to sit up, propping himself up on his elbow, the other arm still wrapped around the girl's waist. "...um.." Runa realized suddenly, horrified, that she was still clinging to the poor boy's neck, and was essentially straddling him. She squealed again, scrambling off of him, blushing from her top to her toes. "Sorry!!" She said in a high pitched voice she sometimes got when she was nervous, or in this case, completely mortified. The boy laughed awkwardly, standing and offering a pale, freckled hand. "Here, um.." She nodded, taking his hand and allowing herself to be helped to her feet. "Sorry I ran into you," Runa mumbled, staring at her feet. "Oh, no, um, I should have been looking where I-... Was.." The boy had black, messy hair, with a few mysterious leaves in it. A few freckles dotted his nose and neck, and he wore a black hoodie reading "save the trees". He was blushing now, and Runa immediately realized why, and knew she probably wore a similar expression. She watched as his left eye, sea green, flickered and faded, turning a bright red like his right. "..w-where.. I was.." He tried, but stopped, his breathing a little rigid. "..oh.." Runa breathed, staring at him. "..gosh.." He nodded, as if in agreement, then tensed. If possible, his blush intensified. "Oh, god, I'm so sorry, I-i didn't even know, I mean, that you're you, or, like.. Fuck. Ah! God, sorry! I-I really need to watch my language sometimes I mean we jus met and I didn't mean anything by it and woah god, I didn't know this was going to happen NOW, I'm a mess right now" Runa giggled, immediately covering her mouth with her hand, and the boy stopped talking, looking at her with a confused expression. "W-what?? What's funny?" He sounded a little flustered, and Runa found it a challenge to stop smiling. "Nothing! Sorry. I'm Runa." He blinked at her, then grinned, if a little shyly. "..Treekat." She beamed before she could stop herself, "Cherry tree!!" He blinked at her, obviously not understanding but trying not to be rude, and she felt herself blush again. "..your eye. Its red, like cherries. Treekat, cherry, cherry tree." "Oh," he grinned, chuckling nervously, "Cherry? People usually say blood or something." "I know," she said thoughtlessly and he opened his eyes, oh god his eyes, refocusing on her with an odd expression. "..yeah. Yeah, I guess you would." She smiled, taking his hand and reaching into her pocket. "W-what are you-" "Relax, mister cherry-eyes, I'm just giving you my number." He relaxed noticeably, and she uncapped a pink sharpie, drawing out her number in a cutesy, curly script. The small blonde girl nodded, as if satisfied, and put the marker back in her pocket. She looked back up, a little nervous, but smiled. "..I.. Oh, um, yeah!" Treekat jerked his hand back, raking it through his hair with a nervous grin, "I'll call you? Maybe we could--" "Yeah," Runa giggled, "I'd like that." He nodded, walking backwards instead of turning around, tripping over a display, nearly falling for the second time that night. He steadied himself quickly, spinning and walking briskly away, "w-who put that there?? Stupid idea, fuck," Runa giggled, quickly covering her mouth, watching him disappear from sight before turning and starting toward the counter where Snowkat was waiting and sure to notice her matching eyes. The thought, for some reason, made her smile.
