A double flowered daffodil! It's quite beautiful, I think I enjoy mutated flowers more than genetically correct ones, though I beleive mutants are sterile and therefore not really beneficial to the environment. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the mutation will correct itself next season....
3. What is the meaning behind their name? Do they have any nicknames? When I first began writing Double Bloom 8 years ago, it was WAY different. However, Aalto is the least changed character all the way up to his name. Aalto is a Finnish surname meaning “wave,” because originally he was going to specialize in elemental magic, namely water. Unfortunately, Aalto’s doesn’t have any nicknames, although he gives everyone around him a nickname.
4. Do they have any siblings? How many? Are they older or younger? Which sibling are they the closest with? He was raised with no siblings!
5. What’s their relationship with their parents like? What about other relatives? Aalto was adopted by Destiny, who acts as a parental figure. Her brother, Iain, acts more as a teacher than a familial presence. While Destiny is very maternal and kind to Aalto, giving them a mother-son relationship, Iain is harsh and ignorant of Aalto’s ambitions.
6. What would they give their life for? The people who show him compassion.
7. Are they in a romantic relationship? With who? How did they meet? At the start of the story, Aalto is not in a romantic relationship. :)
8. What do they believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them? Aalto was raised by Iain and Destiny with the concept that when he dies, his consciousness will fade into nothingness, and his body will be left for nature to consume. As a child it scared him, and Destiny would often brighten his spirits by saying that his passing would allow the world’s magic to grow much stronger, allowing him to breathe easy.
9. What is their favorite color? Favorite animal? Purple and stingrays!
10. What are some of their talents/skills? Using magic!
11. If they could make a mark on history, what would they like it to be? Aalto would wish to make an impact with the use of his magic, whether as an acceptance among non-magic users or as a powerful caster.
12. How old are they? When is their birthday? Aalto is 22, and although the calendar for double bloom is different than ours, his birthday in our world would be February 26th.
13. What do they do for fun? He doodles and hangs out with Kadence!
14. What is their favorite food? How often do they get to eat it? Aalto’s favorite food is a pasta that Destiny will make on special requests (rare) or when she notices Aalto is feeling down (often).
15. What was something their parents taught them? Aalto trains in magic AT LEAST once a week, at most every single day.
16. Are they religious? There’s not really much religion in this world, however, for how little there is, Aalto is not remotely religious.
17. Where were they born? Who knows!!!
18. What languages can they speak? Where did they learn these languages? There’s not multiple languages at this point, so Aalto essentially speaks common.
19. What is their occupation? Aalto is a mage-in-training!
20. Do they have any titles? How did they earn them? At the beginning of the story, Aalto has no official titles.
Personality:
21. What is their favorite thing about their personality? His favorite thing about his own personality is that he is easy to get along with.
22. What is their least favorite thing about their personality? His least favorite thing about his personality is how he will trust more easily than he thinks he should.
23. Do they get lonely easily? Yes.
24. Do you know their MBTI type? Aalto is INFP
25. What is their biggest flaw? His biggest flaw is the ingrained ideals he nearly fully regarding trust and strength being in magic use.
26. Are they aware of their flaws? No.
27. What is their biggest strength? Aalto’s biggest strength is his persistence and dedication to whatever his current ambitions.

29. How would they describe their own personality? “Trustworthy.”
30. When frightened, will they resort to “fight” or “flight”? Fight, immediately drawn up a spell and is prepared to get the hell out after kicking back whatever this threat is.
31. Does this character ever put somebody else’s needs before their own? Who do they do this for? How often do they do this? Oh yeah. Since they first met, Aalto has ALWAYS put Kadence’s needs before his own. Thankfully, the dude will often make this realized and help Aalto take care of himself. Aalto will do the same for the others around, albeit less often and to a lesser degree. (Ex: Kadence is priority number one while Aalto will wait for an opportunity to help for others.)
32. What is their self esteem like? His self esteem is low, but he doesn’t let it show to others.
33. What is their biggest fear? How would they react to having to face it? His biggest fear is failing, and in the face of it, he panics. He wouldn’t admit it, but he does have a fear of water as well, and in the face of it would attempt every possibility of avoiding it.
34. How easily do they trust others with their secrets? With their lives? Aalto only trusts Kadence with a few choice secrets. He would rather other people trust him with secrets and their lives than him to them.
35. What is the easiest way to annoy them? Ask him too many questions or touch him too much. This applies to when you do the same to his friends.
36. What is their sense of humor like? Give an example of a joke they would find humorous. Aalto ADORES puns.
37. How easy is it for them to say “I love you”? Do they say it without meaning it? It may not seem like it, but it is surprisingly easy for Aalto to say “I love you,” and it always has a heavy meaning. He reserves this for the people closest to him, who he genuinely cares for and will protect.
38. What do others admire most about their personality? People admire his dedication. Aalto will do what it takes to achieve what he needs to achieve.
39. What does their happily ever after look like? Successful mage, possibly living in the Kingdom of Nucifera as the Royal Mage, a position that was removed years ago.
40. Who do they trust most? Is that trust mutual? Aalto trusts Kadence the most, and it’s reciprocated very heavily. Without Kadence, Aalto trusts Destiny the most, and that is mutual as well.
Physical Profile:
41. What does their laugh sound like? Do they snort when they laugh? How often do they laugh? Aalto’s laugh is very loud and sudden, almost sharp but warm. He doesn’t really snort when he laughs, but it has happened before. He only really laughs with Kadence.
42. What is their favorite thing about their physical appearance? His favorite thing about his physical appearance is his hair.
43. What is their least favorite thing about their physical appearance? His least favorite thing about his physical appearance is his scars and his chest.
44. Do they have any scars? If so, what are the stories behind those scars? He has some self harm scars on his thighs and left hand, and scars scattered on his left arm (hand to shoulder) from magic use gone wrong during training.
45. How would they describe their own appearance? “Plain.”
46. How easily can they express emotions? How easily can they hide emotions? Aalto has worked on expressing his emotions for a long time, so he’s doin way better at that, but he’s really good at hiding emotions. Whenever he gets hurt, there’s no reaction. When him and Kadence are behind closed doors, K gets him to let it out.
47. What’s their pain tolerance like? Aalto doesn’t really realize this until he’s around Kadence for long enough, but the dude has a SUPER high pain tolerance.

50. How would you describe their style of clothing? How would they describe their style of clothing? He wears clothing that works best for his comfort over his environment or quality. It’s loose, and he’d describe it as the same, he owns up to it.

52. What is their body type? Are they muscular, chubby, skinny, etc? He’s got a little bit of body fat, but he’s got very little muscle.
53. What is their hair color? Eye color? Skin tone? Blond hair, brown eyes, light skin that won’t burn but will tan not very noticeably.
54. What is their current hairstyle? What have been some of their past hairstyles? Which was their favorite hairstyle? Aalto’s hair has always been the same, aside from his part shifting over time. His current is his favorite.
55. What is their alcohol tolerance like? What kind of drunk are they? How bad are their hangovers? His alcohol tolerance is high, and he never gets drunk and never gets hangovers, all due to spells Destiny asked to cast on Aalto, despite the fact that he doesn’t drink.
56. What do they smell like? Why do they smell like this? (Is it the things they’re around or a perfume they wear?) Aalto always smells like vanilla, no matter what! Backfire to a spell he cast once.
57. How do they feel about sex? Are they a virgin? Sex is whatever, I’m not gonna go into it.

59. What does their resting face look like? Do they have RBF? He has a very flat resting face, he doesn’t bother to smile or otherwise acknowledge anyone unless they’re a friend or working with him. He’s close to having an RBF. He looks more bored.
60. Describe the way they sleep. Aalto will switch between totally sprawling out and entirely curling up on himself. If he ever rests in the same room as anyone else, he’ll curl up. If he’s alone or relaxed, he’ll sprawl out. It takes him a while to get to sleep, and he often wakes up multiple times during the night. He always wakes up in a sweat.
Environment:
61. Which season is their favorite season? He enjoys Autumn the most, it’s a good middle ground between hot and cold. Plus Vel makes special goods during that time.
62. Have they ever been betrayed? How did it affect their ability to trust others? Aalto has had his trust broken by Iain in a few ways, and it causes him to be wary of others long enough for him to understand their character.
63. What is always guaranteed to make them smile? Kadence.
64. Do they get cold easily? Do they get overheated easily? Aalto gets cold easily, but doesn’t overheat easily.
65. What’s their immune system like? Do they get sick often? How do they react to getting sick? Destiny saw Aalto get sick once and cast a spell to keep Aalto from ever getting sick again. The most he gets is the sniffles and drowsiness, and that’s only when people around him are sick.
66. Where do they live? Do they like it there? Aalto lives with Iain and Destiny in their home in the middle of the desert and with Kadence in the castle when necessary. His life at home is bittersweet, with tough training and a routine, and life at the castle is delicate and uncertain. While he’s there, while not shunned or looked down upon, he is given glances because he’s not one of their own. Not that he cares. It really matters that Kadence doesn’t think that. Either way, Aalto makes it work, finding the one person or people who help make the living space a home for himself.
67. Is their bedroom messy? What about their bathroom? Kitchen? Living room? His bedroom is a little messy, but his bathroom is more disorganized. The kitchen and living room, being shared with Destiny and Iain, are very disorganized and chaotic.
68. How did their environment growing up affect their personality? Aalto, growing up in the desert under the sun, is tough, determined, and passionate.
69. How did the people in their environment growing up affect their personality? OHHH boy well, Aalto really just grew up around Iain and Destiny, who had totally different impacts on his personality. Destiny raised Aalto and taught him empathy, morals, lessons, common sense, and compassion for the world around them. Iain taught Aalto facts, the worst of the world around them, what Aalto was going to see and know in the world. Both shaped Aalto into a logical person, however, with Iain’s heartless teachings, Aalto made a choice to act with compassion and empathy before bitterness.
70. How do they feel about animals? Do they have any pets? The only wildlife that WE know are very scarce and limited to dense woods or very abandoned areas. However, there are quite a few mythological creatures around, and there are a few that live at Aalto’s home. There’s a Cerberus and a Griffin, however, none of the residents consider them pets so much as family.
71. How are they with children? Do they have any? Do they want any? He’s alright with children, but is scared of havin ‘em or Being Responsible.
72. Would they rather have stability or comfort? Comfort. He would consider stability, but he would prefer an unstable home full of comfort, because that’s what he’s used to.
73. Do they prefer the indoors or outdoors? Indoors. Outdoors means training and defense to him.
74. What weather is their favorite? Do they like storms? Aalto enjoys cloudy weather, the kind where it makes everything around him go dark. No rain, no storms, nothing but the sun’s light blocked out and a cool temperature.
75. If given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen? He’d write down his thoughts, nothing secretive, and doodle senselessly.
76. How organized are they? Organized enough for his room and bathroom to be a bit of a mess.
77. What is their most prized possession? While most think it’s his music player, it’s actually a single Polaroid picture of him smiling with Kadence. He read about a camera that immediately produces a physical image and when he told Kadence about it, Kadence said that it would be the greatest thing to have a physical image of them to keep while Aalto was away. Aalto scavenged for it by himself for days, refusing help from Destiny. When he got the Polaroid, he immediately snuck out to revisit Kadence. They trade it off with every visit. Aalto keeps it in a specially made compartment in his prosthetic. (Kadence keeps it under his pillow when he sleeps, and in his chest pocket when he’s awake.)
78. Who do they consider to be their best friend? Kadence.
79. What is their economic situation? Doing fairly well, makes do with what Iain and Destiny give. He politely declines any offers from Kadence.
80. Are they a morning person or a night owl? Morning person.
Miscellaneous:
81. Are they bothered by the sight of blood? Nope! As a child he was, but rigorous training with Iain wore his fears down to annoyance.
82. What is their handwriting like? Very neat. Destiny learned to write from printed books with neat print, so she mimicked that and taught Aalto to do the same.
83. Can they swim? How well? Do they like to swim? NOPE to everything. Aalto doesn’t know how to swim and will only go into knee deep water at most. Anything above he needs someone to hold on to.

86. How do they celebrate holidays? How do they celebrate birthdays? Aalto actually never grew up with any holidays other than his own birthday. To celebrate he goes ALL OUT. When he meets Kadence and knows his birthday, Aalto goes so hard and K gets super embarrassed.
87. What is something they regret? He regrets ever tampering in magic beyond his level, which caused him to lose his arm.
