Recently, I got around to watching Transformers: Age of Extinction, not because I had been looking forward to it but because I had nothing else to do and it was free on Amazon Prime Instant Video. Now I know why it was free, and as my wife says, a part of our childhood died watching this rendition of the autobots. The movie was incoherent, leaping from poorly done seriousness to ridiculous comedy, mixed with blatant product placement, but one small redeeming factor was Stanley Tucci’s wardrobe as the first villainous then somehow heroic Joshua Joyce.
Though it seems many people have searched Google for the glasses Mr. Tucci’s character wears in the film, what got my attention was his shirt and tie. The latter is a knit necktie tied with a wide knot suited for the accompanying widespread collar. The crisp white shirt, as can be seen in the second image is also sartorially interesting given its high collar with a double button. The jacket has wide peak lapels as well. So, if you dare to watch Age of Extinction, taking style notes can distract you from its otherwise tedious plot.
