Happy Birthday 🎂 (生日快乐) to myself and mum! Bought this one kilogram Coffee Avocado Cake (S$48.80) from Bengawan Solo for our birthdays. Since our birth dates are side by side, might as well celebrate it together. I asked for a simple happy birthday wording on the cake which comes decorated with strawberries 🍓, cape gooseberry, chocolate 🍫 thins, crushed pistachios and dusted in cocoa powder. There is only one big candle 🕯️ to keep our ages a secret. 😁 Anyway, I think having too many candles spoil the appearance of the cake.
As you can see from the pictures below, there are three layers of coffee sponge cake sandwiching two layers of avocado 🥑 slices in cream and chocolate 🍫 ganache. The website site said it contains alcohol, so I suspect coffee liqueur is either added to the cake batter and/or the fresh cream. The coffee ☕ flavour is fragrant but not overpowering enhanced by creamy richness of the buttery avocado chunks. That thin layer of chocolate ganache did wonders to the cake 🎂 boosting the overall enjoyment. I had recommended this Coffee Avocado Cake to my colleague, she and her family love it a lot too.
