A new discovery for me, Double Dagger's "Heretic's Hymn" is the moving and heartfelt 7 minute odyssey that closes out their upcoming & final EP, 333. 333 will be released on April 20th (Record Store Day) along with a documentary, If We Shout Loud Enough, that showcases the band's final tour. You'd never even notice this "post-punk" (fuck, I hate genres) trio lacks a guitarist as the sound is very full & rounded out. A rousing speech that would work as a brilliant farewell for any band starts around five minutes in as the music's warm atmosphere slowly twinkles out. This single track has fully peaked my interest and it looks like I've got some album discoveries to embark on. I suggest you do the same. -B.
