@corrupted-tale for you an Aztec room reveal!
Hi Steph, I have a question I was hoping you could answer. As you know, in The Hounds of Baskerville, the inn keeper says something to the terms of, "Sorry we couldn't do a double room for you boys". So what exactly did John and Sherlock get..? Did they get a room with two beds or one bed..? I apologize for this stupid question, but I've honestly never been able to figure this one out and it's getting on my nerves. Thanks!
Hi Nonny!
No apology necessary, it’s not stupid! I don’t mind trying to help you out!
So as far as I understand, a “double room” is a hotel room with one bed for a couple, so the assumption is that they instead got one room with two single beds. We can then assume that John… probably… tried to book them a room with one bed, is what I’m taking away from this, but did it without Sherlock knowing he tried to do it and is embarrassed because the innkeeper brought it up while Sherlock was within earshot.
The OTHER way to take it, is that they showed up without a booking (which is more likely, given their sudden departure), and the innkeepers were like “oh look at this handsome couple, we’re going to assume they want a single room” and then felt TERRIBLE because they couldn’t get them a room with one bed, because let’s be real: EVERYONE assumes they’re a couple without asking LOL. BECAUSE THEY’RE PERFECT!!
So yeah, LOL. I hope that helped you out <3
This is the final product of my dorm room for this school year! It’s a double room, and my roommate has a similar set up on the other wall. We have huge windows, a sky light, and super nice bathrooms as well!
what's the best area to live in if you are introverted, want to be close to downtown, want a single all four years but want a close, tight knit house community?
Having all four of these things will be rather hard, but I would say Green St. or Elm St. are you best chances. Green St. is considered the best place to live if you’re an introvert. Green St. and Elm St. are both close to downtown (Lower Elm is the closest of all areas of campus) and generally have tight knit house communities. However, it’s much harder to get a single all four years in these areas of campus than it is in the Quad.

hob really was just a setup for ‘there was only one bed’ trope and I will die on this hill
LOL YES let’s go with that and pretend the whole double bed discourse doesn’t exist in these times that we need happy things XD
